I never thought much of Niki, she was horrendously overrated on here in particular.

Nikki was relatively decent enough considering the dire standards of the majority of series 4. Kimberley was decent I suppose, as were 4Tune (though I really dont remember them at all). Kandy Rain were treatly somewhat fairly I suppose, and were involved in one of the numerous instances were Cheryl has acted like a div. Because Cheryl has of course never dressed provocatively. Of course not - how dare you suggest such a thing of R Cheryl.
aw. I loved emily. :( not really as a person though, she had her nice moments but otherwise she was quite a thug. still I quite liked her voice and I still remember her.
emily's voice was terrible, she couldn't sing! what made me hate her more was the fact sharon chose her over the much, much better steph who was amazing :P
I think Ruth Lorenzo will defo place in the top 10 ;)

Hope so

Journey South are a singing duo consisting of brothers Andy and Carl Pemberton. They auditioned for the 2nd series of X Factor in 2005 eventually finishing 3rd in the competition. Soon after the competition ended it was reported that Journey South had received five record contract offers and had signed with the one they "wanted to work with most". This was later confirmed to be Sony BMG, the label on which they released their debut album. The album reached Number 1 beating off competition by fellow X Factor finalist Andy Abraham. Their first week sales were also higher than X Factor winner Shayne Ward's first album.

In 2007 they decided to leave Sony BMG and X Factor creator/producer Simon Cowell on amicable terms. The duo formed their own record label, ANCA, through which the duo's second album, Home, was released on 22 October 2007 along with a single, "What I Love About Home", a week earlier. This single was chart-ineligible due to an alleged printing error. The album reached only number 43. In February 2008 a second single, "Reconcile Our Love", was released but failed to chart. Voices With Soul auditioned for the 1st series of X Factor, but were eliminated in Week 4. After the show they supported G4 on tour, but that’s as big as it got for the lasses from Luton. Their debut album Celebration only managed to reach a disappointing No.87 and the mum, daughter and auntie are now available for private parties.

thats an attractive photo :heehee:

bit embarassing that Journey South were behind Voices with Soul, JS at least had an album!

most of these have all faded into oblivion really- although Chico will probably never be forgotten

Niki was an OK singer but seemed like a deeply unpleasant individual; wasn't she the one who was blogging about her "meaty minge" or something?

The group was made up of four sisters, Laura, Marie, Sharon and Sinead Conway. They auditioned for the 2nd series of X Factor in 2005, however were eliminated in Week 7 after finding themselves in the bottom 2 for the 3rd consecutive week. The Irish girls had three top 20 singles in Ireland before entering the show. In Week 5 of the show during a vote off between them and Mario Lawson, the group was saved by Louis Walsh. This led to Sharon Osbourne suggesting he had "voted with his passport" (referring to the fact that both Walsh and the Conway Sisters are Irish). The decision provoked controversy in the UK media, especially when it was revealed that Walsh had known the Conways personally prior to the competition. In August 2006 on the ITV show The X Factor – One Year On, Laura Conway announced that the Conways had split up for good. Following the split, Laura also announced that she intended to pursue a solo music career.

Ben Mills is a British singer, who auditioned for the third series of X Factor in 2006. He was in the bottom two for the first time in week seven alongside Eton Road but survived elimination. Mills was voted off The X Factor in the semi-final, finishing in third place. He signed a five-album record deal with Sony BMG. His album, Picture of You, was released on 12 March 2007, the same date as the debut album from The X Factor runner-up Raymond Quinn. Since then he has been seen performing at Pizza Express in Maidstone, Kent. He also toured the country with a Rod Stewart tribute act.

The groups are where X Factor has provided the most comedy. Have Two 2 Go or whatever they were called been already? Voices With Soul, Journey South (defined 90's MOR, like Mike & The Mechanics or someting - yet appeared in 2005), but yes, The Conway Sisters were hilarious - the point in between The Corrs, Bellefire and the Irish mafia, I laughed whenever Louis saved them over the current female favourite. Bizarre choice of finalist  Again, it wasn't the late 90's anymore...

2005 Number One Ireland: 7

Tabby Callaghan is a musician who just before X Factor began, formed a group called DZ5. DZ5 auditioned for the first series of ITV talent show The X Factor, unaware that the new show's willingness to accept groups only applied to vocal groups. The panel of judges, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, advised Callaghan to re-audition as a solo singer in order to proceed in the competition. Callaghan was selected by Sharon Osbourne to be one of her acts at the live finals. He finished in third place overall. After The X Factor, Callaghan participated in a fly-on-the-wall "rockumentary" titled What Tabby Did Next, coinciding with the release of his debut single in Ireland. He has been quoted in numerous newspaper articles criticising the level of control that X Factor contracts place upon contestants. Further singles and an album have been planned for release but for various reasons keep getting pushed back at the last minute. A single called 'King Of The Town' was due for release throughout 2007 and 2008 but never appeared. It is understood now from Tabby's MySpace page and his official forum that an album has been recorded and is being prepared for release in the near future.

Well, The Conway Sisters were from Ireland and there had been rumours circulating that they had already supported Westlife in Ireland. The nail in the coffin came when Louis voted off Maria Lawson to save his own act when Maria was clearly the more popular - even had a (relatively short lived) career off the back of The X Factor.

I sort of liked Journey South though. :( Not enough to put in my top 10 but they were narrowed down into my top 16 (after deleting all the rubbish acts). They also got a #1 album beating Andy Abraham (who had beaten them to second place in 2005) so they must've done something right. :P

Bad Lashes are a four-piece girl band from North East England, made up of Emily McNamee, Sophie Wilson, Samantha Bennett and Stacey Lincoln. In the first live show, they received mixed reviews from the judges, attracting praise from Cheryl Cole, but harsh criticism from Simon Cowell, who compared watching their performance to 'eating water.' They were the first act to be eliminated in the live shows when, they found themselves in the bottom two with other girl group Girlband. The judges' votes were split at 2-2, so the result of the public vote was revealed and Bad Lashes were announced to have polled the least votes from the viewers and were sent home. Bad Lashes have since released their cover version of Wonderwall in November 2009 as a single.

Ben had a fairly decent debut single so I recall, but I found it insane that throughout the 2006 series, he was the favourite to win, at times over Leona - I was worried that he would prevail for quite a few weeks. Leona is the one and only time I've voted week in week out for somebody on a talent show.

Bad Lashes were really good. I could see why the public never took to Girlband but BD actually performed Wonderwall very well I thought, though if I remember correctly their actual first performance was a typical girlband song when it was clear to everyone that this was not the material that suited them. Louis Walsh fcuked them up their chances basically by proving himself again to be an awful mentor.

The Conways were a guilty pleasure of mine I admit. Obviousl they should have gone over Maria but I dont they deserved the hate they got afterwards when it was clearly the fault of Louis. Their performances were mostly of quite a good quality, and hey they were a girlband, I was always going to love them.

In his first audition, Cheryl Cole described him as "the first person I'm going to say you've got the X Factor to." He was placed in the bottom two in Week 4 and Week 6, however on both occasions was saved at the expense of Rachel Adedeji and Jamie Archer. He was on 29th November eventually eliminated from the competition finishing in 5th place. On a Welsh radio station he recently revealed that he is working on an album.

Since the show he has released studio albums/singles and represented United Kingdom and the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. However, he finished a dissapointing equal last of the 25 entries with Germany and Poland. In January 2010 Andy signed up with celebrity management agency Champions (UK) Plc who are working on new material with Andy as well as a number of exciting projects. He also recently performed at Theo Walcott's 21st Birthday Party alongside Beverley Knight.
