September 19, 201014 yr Suedehead, when you say Die Antwoord conjures up images of a death metal band, I assume you know 'Die' in this sense doesn't mean 'cease to live' but is actually the Afrikaans word for 'The'?
September 19, 201014 yr Author Suedehead, when you say Die Antwoord conjures up images of a death metal band, I assume you know 'Die' in this sense doesn't mean 'cease to live' but is actually the Afrikaans word for 'The'? I did know that, yes. It was the Antwoord which sounded like a death metal band
September 20, 201014 yr Spotted a mistake - Airplanes isn't the longest running top 40 single, that'd be The Man Who Can't Be Moved (21 weeks) Unless you just mean consecutive :P

September 21, 201014 yr THE ALBUMS WITH THE MOST TOP 10 WEEKS (EXCLUDING SOUNDTRACKS) 1) BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER - SIMON & GARFUNKEL - 135 2) THE BLACK & WHITE MINSTREL SHOW - THE GEORGE MITCHELL MINSTRELS - 120 3) THRILLER - MICHAEL JACKSON - 88 (Includes 7 Top 10 Weeks with ‘Thriller 25’ ) 4) TUBULAR BELLS - MIKE OLDFIELD - 74 5) THE FAME - LADY GAGA - 71 (Includes Sales of ‘The Fame Monster’ - 2009) Thank you! Do you have a Top 10 version of this? Would like to see how many weeks blockbusters like Gold by Abba and Queen's Greatest Hits have collected.
September 21, 201014 yr 'Gold', by ABBA, spent 58 Weeks in the Top 10. (433 - so far - in the Top 75). 'Greatest Hits' by Queen, is the UK's Best Selling Album, but it 'only' spent 23 Weeks in the Top 10. It spent 472 Weeks on the Chart, but 'only' 410 of those were in the Top 75. Its other 62 Weeks are Positions from 76 to 100, when the entire Top 100 was used for Chart Books. (August 1981 to January 1989). The Queen Album, that spent the most Weeks in the Top 10, was their 1984 Album, 'The Works. It was in the Top 10 for 25 Weeks. Ironically, it was not one of their 9 No.1 Albums. It Peaked at No.2 - for 3 Weeks - non-consecutive. Edited September 21, 201014 yr by zeus555
September 21, 201014 yr Thanks a lot! I thought Gold and both of Queen's GHs would've done better. Especially Gold regarding the fact it's re-entered Top 10 so many times. Queen also have the GH package which might have affected the sales of those separate GHs Edited September 21, 201014 yr by SKOB
