also, how come KOL is out in ireland now but not in the Uk?

yeah that's what i wondered.. they always seem to get music a week or so before the uk. is it to test out how well the song will do over here or something or is it just so that they have time to promote it there too?

Are the Glee tracks released next week!?!? I thought it'd be in January. Empire State of Mind will definitely go top 10 here, whenever it's released.

But if it's on in Ireland, then won't they just release it on Irish iTunes? It'll go on UK iTunes when it airs in the UK (I would think).

 

I listened to 3 of the tracks yesterday. The main criticism I have is most of the songs they do just sound so similar to the original. They need to popularize other arrangements of the track (like they did with Poker Face), or make more of their own. More mash-ups would be nice too, like Halo/Walking On Sunshine was very popular, and is my favourite Glee track. It was always re-entering the top 100 on iTunes weeks after it was released, as opposed to most of the other songs which just dropped out the chart. Plus, it got used on a couple of TV shows like Britain's Got Talent. I don't hate Glee, but I think they could do better. Some of their songs are just so boring, although they do sometimes re-introduce me to old songs, like Total Eclipse of the Heart, which is nice.

 

I heard Empire State of Mind on Radio 1 today though, and it's #1 on US iTunes! I think it will be big!

Glee songs won't be released next week as the series doesn't air until January...

 

There's a chance I might actually like some of this batch, but I doubt it. Nothing from the list looks like a #1.

 

In a way I'd like there to be a flash-in-the-pan Glee #1 just to see how quickly it falls. In another way, I'd rather Glee never charted again asisde from their actually decent covers (ie. Like A Prayer, Halo/Walking On Sunshine... that's it)

 

Looks like Cee Lo will probably get brought forward to next week :( Looks like Tinie will have to settle with another high selling #2 (or indeed 3 or 4 depending on how Bruno holds up and how big Labrinth turns out to be)

 

It'll be a very high selling top 4 next week if Cee Lo is brought forward :o

New releases come out on Friday in Ireland. And not all three Glee songs will go top 20 even if the show is on.

Written in the Stars will be #1 sunday, i'm 99.9% sure of it.

There is no way they will drop out of the top 20 with music airplay increasing. Also all of the Glee tracks will not be released as Glee doesnt start until January anyway so there will be no boost for Travie's version of 'Billionaire' either. Also it is reasonably obvious to me at least that Selena is going to flop, I havent even seen it on the music channels ONCE - it would be lucky to get top 100 imo. The only new entrys that could push The Sats down is Tinie, Labrinth, Kylie (who I think will peak at about 14) or Cee Lo (if it is released early).
