Haven't actually commented at this, but I think the video (where she performed a different version of 'Hot N Cold') on YouTube was hilarious! Though yeah, she looked a bit too fit on the clip.

Katy Perry Puppet Parody Criticized

Singer Katy Perry appeared on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, where she performed a comedy sketch making fun of the recent uproar caused by the cleavage-baring outfit she wore for her Sesame Street performance (a low-cut lime-green dress).

For her Saturday Night Live performance, Katy wore a bright red, low-cut Elmo t-shirt to play the part of a teenage librarian on a talk show. In the sketch, the librarian is interviewed by two 'hosts', who say things like, "Who cares if kids are looking at boobs - boobs feed babies, alright?"

In response to parents' complaints about Perry's too-bare bust, Sesame Street producers decided to cut her rendition of a children's version of "Hot N Cold" from their New Year's Eve show. The skit was aired on YouTube.

However, the twenty-five year old singer will be a guest star on another puppet holiday TV show. She's scheduled to perform live on 'The 39 Days of Christmas', a holiday episode of a puppet version of 'The Simpsons'. Katy will play the part of bartender Moe's girlfriend, and the segment will be aired on December 5. Simpson's producer Al Jean said, "In the wake of Elmo's terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry."

Following the Katy Perry controversy last week, a Sesame Street representative said the show had a long history of working with celebrities, explaining, "We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent op care-giver."

Between 1981 and 1993, the show used a 'parody' modeled after large-busted country singer Dolly Parton - a big-busted creation they called 'Polly Darton' and billed as "the sweetest little package in down-home country goodness." Apparently, parodies are less offensive than the real thing.
