Many artists take advantage of the loophole which does need to be addressed. Katy should turn this into a full release and support it with physical formats.

Whilst I don't agree with the way that the majority of greatest hits albums are able to linger around forever at the upper echelons of the chart due to the rules, Katy Perry's (and Dua Lipa's live album which is also exploiting a loophole really, both of which I love) greatest hits album hasn't been physically released or marketed anywhere. It's not really an album, it's literally just a playlist that you can stream and download (but I'm not sure if anyone really has).

There are more than 20 greatest hits albums among the 100 best-selling albums of 2026 in the UK, but Katy Perry is the only one desperate.

Haha not quite, more because this is a ‘playlist’ than a Greatest Hits album.

I think that they're insinuating that Katy will lose any credibility she has left because having a greatest hits/compilation album looks like she's desperate for sales.

Why so?

If she did I think she’d lose any of the credibility she has left.

Has Katy supported this release?

The One That Got Away had sold 1,698,970 units as of 3 July 2026, and it was certified 3X platinum on 11 September. This means it reached the 1,800,000 mark that week, indicating 101,030 units were sold over a 10 week period. Thus, the track is averaging around 10,100 units on a weekly basis. At this rate, it'll hit 4X platinum in November 2027. Since the rate is likely going to slow down eventually, I would expect that certification to come sometime in 2028. Pretty great for a track that only peaked at number 18!

Poor Katy :( all went wrong when she botchdd the singles of Prism and never went right since then

There’s still time for it to blow up yet!

Wild to think was 2 years ago yesterday this was released 😮
