Reading this page, some of you come across really badly. Aidan's allowed his own opinion!

If you don't agree with what he's saying then fine...I can see why someone wouldn't want to be watching something about gang rape. Yes, it's obviously not going to be explicit etc. but it's hardly something lovely to watch/hear about is it?!

On to the show, I love how even when Janine's genuinely upset about something I still don't feel sorry for her! I did love her 'I'll kill him' line at the end though. With most people that's just an expression but with Janine, who knows?

Thanks Cremey!

This week has been very interesting, I felt sorry for her at the end of last night's episode but now I think she's just mad again!

Sorry Cremey, but I fail to see how myself, Shoat or Jark came across badly? What he was saying, WAS ludicrous?! With EastEnders, you are to expect such high profile storylines as that, this is a soap that recently has tackled paedophilia, rape, mental illness and child abuse and done it exceedingly well. You know it's going to be done in a tasteful yet highlighting the issue manner, so what he was saying WAS ridiculous. I don't regret anything I've said in reply to him at all and neither Shoat nor Jark should either.

Oh I don't either, I just moved the topic of conversation along in the hope of agreeing to disagree.

Ultimately if you want to live a life full of pixies and fairies and rainbows that's your choice. I personally don't get how you could find a rape storyline so uncomfortable that you couldn't watch it unless you'd been the victim of it yourself but whatever.

Yes, I'm all for agreeing to disagree.

However, this in particular seemed completely unnecessary: "I didn't know you were able to form opinions Aidan?". Oh how hilarious.

As for the Team Janine, Team Stacey thing, I really can't see how anyone can be Team Janine! I do love her as a character but she is just such a nasty piece of work. Yes, obviously it's not nice to see her upset etc. and no-one should be cheated on, but if anyone deserves it she does, after the way she's treated people over the years!

Ha! But the thing is she's only ever acted how she has because she was the victim of a broken home with no mother and a father who she idolised but who was hardly around to give her love - she's broken inside, she can't love properly. Personally I don't see how you could sympathise with Stacey in this storyline. She's out to wreck somebody's marriage for the sake of a few shags here and there. Ryan I do sympathise with because he married Janine without realising quite how insane she was (in that sense the storyline having her lock him in the fridge was genius) but Stacey, not in the slightest. This is probably the first time I've ever not felt anything for her. Even when she was shagging Max I felt bad for her because she had to go home to Bradley afterwards!

In other news I'm a bit underwhelmed by EE as a whole right now. Far too many affairs (with at least two more on the horizon if spoilers are to be believed) and no direction for any of the storylines. Janine, Pat and Kat are literally carrying the show at the minute.

Same here, but I wonder how much that is to do with Coronation Street (which I usually avoid like the plague) being so so much better at the moment. Switching over to Eastenders after Corrie's finished at the moment is like putting the new Westlife album on having just listed to Rihanna's Loud beforehand. A complete comedown from amazement to boredom. And I say this as a longterm huge Eastenders fan and somebody who's never been at all interested in Corrie before the last couple of weeks.

Of course EE have the ability to do the huge storylines amazingly, and keep me hooked when they do, but the current storylines aren't interesting me much at all. I guess it should pick up in xmas week, it always excels then and certainly does the big xmas storylines better than Corrie ever have imo.

I like the new Ben at first he looked a bit dorky.

I wish they get rid of Connor though.

Connor has peaked now. The writers seem to have turned him into a real malicious piece of work for no reason other than to get back at Carol for ditching him.

But tonight's episode was largely good, you can tell the fat is being trimmed now (not literally in Heather's case mind) as they approach Christmas. Lovely scenes with Shirley the domestic goddess and also that post-sexytime chat Glenda and Phil had. New Ben seems perfectly decent too, especially given that most actors take time to settle into a role.

Purely physically though ... don't you think the new Ben looks even more gormless than the last one?

I need to see NuBen more. He barely spoke on Tuesday so I'm going to have to get used to him before making any further comments. Anybody who can wipe the smile off Jay's face gets brownie points anyway. I really hate that kid -_-

I also agree about the Stacey thing. I've never been too keen on her but she has been diabolical as of late. There's no sympathy at all from me. She openly admitted to just wanting sex from Ryan. That does make her appalling because she's determined to break up somebody else's marriage [not the first time eh?] Lacy may be an amazing actress but as a character, I don't get the love [lately anyway].

Janine may be evil and vindictive but I always feel something for her. I think I kinda relate. Not in the sense that I wish to kill people or poison them etc but I understand why she does what she does and to be fair - she does make excellent television.

So there's a rumour going around that one actor who is currently on leave has decided they're not coming back after their agent and Bryan Kirkwood HAD WORDS. No idea who it could be.

I have to say there's a very BIG anti-Kirkwood momentum at the minute. If this rumour is true he could be OUT soon.

Considering how great Hollyoaks was under him, Kirkwood has been quite the dissapointment. It started off looking good, he axed the deadwood and there appeared to be a good few storylines in the making. But frankly these days, I can barely be bothered with EastEnders.

Regarding the actor on leave who wont be returning, I've seen Diane Parish's name floating about before today even. My first guess was actually Thomas Law though, known to be on leave and a return was not fully confirmed.

The Beale Family won't be the same with their two main eldest children just disappearing. If there is a lot of hate with Bryan Kirkwood, than they should get rid of the producer, hopefully the replacement will bring Thomas Law and Melissa Suffett back, that's if Thomas Law is on leave. You just can't keep on recasting characters with different actors, its like Lauren, the new Lauren is awful, just end up with 2 awful replacements for Peter and Lucy if they get re-casted. Surely Lucy will come back at some point.

Natalie Cassidy is making another brief return by the looks of it since Sonia is in the spoilers for Friday Jan 21st. :D

In other news a new family has supposedly been cast and will arrive in February. Nothing concrete but some people seem to be thinking the dad might be played by Ben Richards of Footballers' Wives fame and that it could perhaps be Derek Branning and his brood. There's an 18 year old son apparently.

Glenda was FABULOUS tonight. Never have I performed such a U-turn on a character before. I LOVE the barmy bint tottering around glass of Merlot in hand, going on about party princesses and the like. Picking up where Suzy Branning left off.

WOAH.

I am totally on board with the Glenda u-turn, but let's not compare her to QOL Suzy yet.

I don't how EE have done it but they have made Glenda into quite an interesting character a month ago she seemed so out of the circle in the Square but now she's like the Katie Wassiel's grandmother of the square. I'm loving this storyline.

Suzy was only QOL for ONE DAY. I sense that Glenda may have more stamina (although just watch as she's now declared dead in tomorrow's episode).

Admittedly "weak sperm" was a GLORIOUS moment in TV history.
