NEW STORY

EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell will suffer a heart attack in a dramatic new storyline, reports have revealed.

The show regular - played by Steve McFadden - will collapse at Walford nightclub R&R in the New Year as his health takes a sudden turn for the worse.

According to The Mirror, a further twist will see Phil taunted and "left for dead" by his long-time nemesis Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), who witnesses his shock medical scare.

The surprise turn of events comes after Phil discovers Ian's affair with Albert Square temptress Glenda (Glynis Barber) and demands cash in return for his silence - while continuing his own secret relationship with the blonde.

A source said: "Ian follows Phil into R&R to give him the [blackmail] money but he walks in on Phil and Glenda getting it on. The passion is too much for Phil and he collapses.

"Phil is gasping for air and Glenda is yelling for help. Ian tells her to go and call an ambulance while he waits. He then promises to tell Phil's girlfriend Shirley about his affair and take his son Ben to live with him if Phil doesn't make it. Ian then leaves him for dead."

Not sure about New Year's Day's episode(s) yet, but I'm guessing it'll either be an hour episode or two half hour episodes.

Christmas Day Spoiler:

Somebody is stabbed, and a 'famous face' is back on the square.

Not sure how accurate this is, but where I found it they usually get everything right.

Famous face? Any ideas who this might be...I'm still always holding out for a Sharon return!

The famous face is Sean Slater (so not really famous at all) as was basically confirmed a few months back... not sure on a stabbing though! Interesting!

I must have missed that about Sean then! Is he coming back for a full return or just a quick goodbye to Stacey?

I know his return is something to do with Stacey's exit but I'm not completley sure why he's there. I know it's not a full return though!

Interesting! Maybe he might have been brought back to do with Jean's exit for a few months? As from what I've read it doesn't seem that Jean is leaving with Stacey...

I'm sorry but

a Sean Slater return

was NEVER 'basically confirmed' and even now it's only speculation. The people who think it's that person are saying that

he returns to take Jean with him after she finds out about Stacey killing Archie and has a meltdown

. Sounds reasonable if it's true, which is still a big 'if'.

EastEnders fans can gain an extra insight into the soap's Christmas storyline this week as three special scenes have been filmed showing bonus bits from the dramatic festive plot.

The extra scenes will air exclusively on the red button and the show's official website from today, further exploring the relationships between the characters at the heart of the Christmas drama.

Later this week, viewers will see Walford favourite Stacey Branning (Lacey Turner) bow out from EastEnders after a shocking announcement in the Queen Vic forces her to make a life-changing decision.

Stacey's exit storyline will take centre stage on the soap over the Christmas period as her ongoing love triangle plot with Ryan and Janine Malloy (Neil McDermott and Charlie Brooks) reaches a climax.

Show bosses have confirmed that the extra red button scenes will feature "revelations and admissions" from Stacey, Janine, Ryan, Max and Lauren, providing an added insight into their thoughts and feelings as Christmas Day approaches.

The special scenes will be made available on the red button and online directly after the EastEnders episodes which air tonight, on Thursday and on Friday.

If they're anything like Lauren's video diaries on the EE website they will be HILARIOUSLY awful. I can hardly wait!

EASTENDERS' Lacey Turner will walk out of Walford at Christmas - as her real-life sis walks IN to the soap.

Lily Harvey, who is nine, starts filming in January and hits screens in March.

She will star as cheeky youngster Shenice, daughter of Kat Moon's new pal Martine, who will be played by newcomer Tamara Wall.

And Lacey, 22 - who has played Stacey Branning since 2004 - is said to be "thrilled" about Lily's role.

A source said: "She loved growing up on set and is happy to still have links. She'll give Lily lots of advice and has made the older stars promise to look out for her. Lily takes after Lacey, she's a star in the making."

Lily had to audition for the part despite the family connection. She lives with Lacey, sister Daisy and mum Bev in Radlett, Herts.

They will all be together at home for Christmas. Lacey said: "I love it because Lily still gets all excited. She keeps it alive in our house."

Yes but i wouldn't rule out coming back somewhen down the line like Kat and Alfie did.

I actually felt really sorry for Janine when she walked into The Vic at the end. :(

How can anyone not love Kat?! "Shat your maaaaafff you rancid owld caaaaw".

On the other hand, i do really feel sorry for Janine, the lovable murderer that she is.
