I've caught up on Thursday's and Friday's now and I feel I need to say that EastEnders has just had one of the best weeks I can remember in a long, long time. The best week since Bianca's wedding/the live ep, or perhaps even Christmas week with Archie's death.

My only criticism - and it really is a tiny one - is that Friday's duff duff being about Billy's grown child reveal seemed a bit off given that the majority of the week focused on Carol's grief. I'd rather the duff duff was Carol telling Connor she hopes his child dies, but hey ho. Speaking of which

united in their grief, they sleep together next week. Seriously. It sounds disastrous on paper but then so did Billy and Jean but that was handled well so who knows.

In other rumoured news

there's a lot of speculation that Amira's back at Christmas. Personally I doubt it but her singing career has gone tits up and there's plenty of potential with the new-born baby so who knows?

Ronnie and Kat accidentally swap babies - Ronnie thinks hers died but it's actually Kat's that died? I LOVE SPECULATION.

What I don't get is

exactly how a baby swap can occur. The doctors surely know whose baby is whose - how can they get it mixed up?! And also it has the potential to be a very tacky, 'shock value' storyline a la Darren being the father of Hev's baby. I'm sure Kirkwood will handle it better than that but I am perplexed as to how it'll work.

ps. Slick

I hope Amira DOES come back just to annoy you, HA!

I know what you mean, but I'm sure there'll be some sort of believability in it if it were to occur. There are always ways around it.

And actually, I would LOVE it if that happened. Just because I'm not fond of the character, it doesn't mean I wouldn't love to throw a huge spanner into Syed's and Christian's bliss.

I have NOTHING to do today and have literally reached an all-time peak with my EE obsession so I decided to do the unthinkable and buy Inside Soap just so I could check out all the spoilers and pics from the next few weeks and OMG everything is going to be AMAZING.

Here's a few tidbits from Bryan Kirkwood about the show going into 2011 and certain characters (SEMI-SPOILERIFIC BTW PEOPLE):

- Stacey

'Stacey is one of the all-time greats of the show - her character has been through so much, and it was only inevitable that her last year had to top everything that had gone before it. What it's given us is the chance to tell a brilliant and memorable exit story for her.'

- Roxy

'Roxy will step back into the centre of the action as she takes control of her life'.

I'm not sure what that means other than just MORE ROXY but it's a good thing.

- Jane

'Jane's plan to leave Ian will hit a stumbling block when she reconsiders her feelings for him'.

Surprise, surprise!

- Masoods

'There will be no easy reconciliation for the Masood family but Tamwar will get a story of his own.

- Bianca

'We asked what could take Bianca away from her family and only one possible answer came up'

so I'm guessing

PRISON...

- Ronnie & Jack

'The wedding ep is an important episode for us in November. We decided to tell a story with a slightly different flavour - it's good to give the audience what they want'.

- Michael Moon

'Returns and sets his sights on another Square stunner.'

Frankly this smacks to me of pointlessness but whatever...

- Alfie & Kat 'They've got the pub, a baby on the way, everything is going swimmingly - happiness never last long though. As we progress into the New Year there's an epic storyline on the way that's going to change the lives of this new family for evermore...' -

that'll be the baby swap I imagine then

- New Ben 'He's a misfit with a very strained relationship with Phil, so things won't be easy. He's had an awful time at the young offenders' institution and that will give us a really fascinating character to use over the next few years'.

Probably got his first gay experience there LOL

Here's what he had to say about taking over the show:

- 'We all discussed the idea of Peggy dying but every time we talked about it we were left with a bad taste in our mouths. It just didn't feel right at all. We wanted her to leave in a poignant and emotionally truthful fashion - and I wanted Peggy to leave Albert Square with dignity.'

- 'Some of these actors have been here for a great number of years but I've got to have my eye on the bigger picture at all times, which means some people have to go.'

- 'I always say that there'll be no more returning characters but then I see an old episode and think to myself, oh no, but they would so brilliant in the show now!

Do you think there's any type of character missing in EastEnders right now?

- 'The show has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to strong and scary women. I love telling stories with these brilliant icons like Shirley, Kat, Carol, Bianca, Janine - the list really does go on and on. I don't think we have the men to fight back, though. Phil, Alfie, Jack and Max notwithstanding, we need some more blokes in the show - charming, happy blokes. EE has its fair share of loveable losers but I would like to see more characters like Wicksy on our screens again.

What's been your favourite moment on screen since you've been in charge?

- 'Peggy saying goodbye to Pat without her knowing it. For me, it was beautifully underwritten by Simon Ashdown and I'm reduced to tears each time I see it. All those years of history, rivalry and friendship wrapped up in a 30 second scene. I think it was exquisite.'

And some more specific SPOILERS about current storylines:

Billy and Julie

Julie's quick to kick Billy into touch when the shocking news of his secret child plunges him into a spiral of self-pity. Despite a spat as Julie tells Billy a few home truths about his childish behaviour, tthe re-established bond between the pair sees them quickly making up again. There could be more trouble ahead for the reunited friends however when their son makes an appearance. The wheels are put in motion by the end of this week when Billy contacts an adoption agency...

In other Billy news

he tries to kiss Carol which results in getting a smack from Bianca in R&R, and then insults Jean which results in getting a smack from STACEY, and then he accidentally smacks a police officer and winds up spending the night in a cell with Alfie LOL.

Just for TRIVIA FANS Cathy Murphy who plays Julie and Perry Fenwick were actually friends when they went to Sylvia Young Theatre School together but haven't seen each other for like thirty years, just like their characters. Life works in MYSTERIOUS WAYS people.

Carol

She visits Jim and sees that he doesn't have a photo of Billie on the mantlepiece so she accuses him of racism and then bans both him and Dot from the funeral. Then Liam accidentally spills ketchup on one of Billie's hoodies so Carol smacks him and cuts him with her ring and then a row erupts with Bianca.

Also Lindsay Coulson has signed another year-long contract so YAY!

Okay I think that's it. HA.

I used to buy every issue of Inside Soap without fail with my pocket money :(

It really was TOTALLY worth the £1.45 for all of the excitement it's given me.
It really was TOTALLY worth the £1.45 for all of the excitement it's given me.

It really is! I had STACKS of the things before I grew up and got a life. When I met the editor recently I nearly died.

The spoilers sound amazing btw. Stacey <3

So many spoilers, so much information to take in!

After reading all of those, it's made me so excited for the next few months of EE, very surprised that

Carol sleeps with Connor

, I'll be interested to see how that make it work

after what happened with them last week.

EDIT: I've just been searching and I've found a few spoilers from the internet which I'm not sure has been posted yet, so I'll post them anyway but sorry if they have been posted already:

Daniel Brocklebank who played Ivan in Emmerdale is apparently joining the show and is meant to be playing Billy's son.

Buuuut, apparently Julie was only 'joking' with Billy the whole time and hasn't had his baby...

Edited by Aidan

Daniel Brocklebank is some hot tamale! But

I really don't think Julie is lying about him being Billy's kid. There was no suggestion of that whatsoever in the big preview in Inside Soap. We'll see I guess.

I hope that she isn't lying, I do feel sorry for Billy after so much bad luck. But there was a picture of him walking off with a disapointed face, and the setting didn't look like the Square.

The last 5 mins of Eastenders was pure comedy, loved all the slapping, poor Billy with that punch on the copper

I like the Billy plot. I actually really liked what they did with when they threw Billy and Jay in together - Perry Fenwick is never going to be one of EE's powerhouse performers, but he IS good at the understated, more subtle and touching material, and the whole new angle of him suddenly trying to be a father figure to a stroppy teenage boy has actually made Billy seem almost relevant again. Throwing in a PROPER father/son storyline should work well just as well, especially if they go down the route of the new Jay/Phil bond, which could potentially have left Billy out in the cold again.

Admittedly last week probably wasn't the best time to drop that revelation, given we were all only interested in Carol, but still...

I'm not sure about the whole

baby-switch

thing but will try and reserve judgement.

The Jane spoiler doesn't surprise me in the list. I thought they'd actually dropped that storyline already! They need to find something more interesting for the Beales to do.

The Michael Moon spoiler - I'm guessing

Roxy to be the female they're pairing him up with. She's quite similar to Kat in a lot of ways, and a new man would fit in with her "taking control of her life".

Eastenders is SO good at the moment!

Literally haven't loved a soap this much in years.

Kat truly is amazing, such a soap legend.

Eastenders is quite truly the dog's bo**ks at the moment! Was shocked when Janine hit Kat back about as twice as hard as she hit her, but due to my psychosis I love Janine and quite enjoyed it :drama: Oh and WTF a producer giving Billy good material and two duff-duffs in a row! :o
I LOVED the Stacey/Janine/Kat thing! I really wanted Kat to give her what-for and I'm so glad she did. I love all three of them but seeing Janine get her comeuppance always makes my day.
I've just remembered about reading a spoiler which said that

somebody finds out the person they think is their father is not

, (I think it was a TV magazine from the weekend), and I've just found out that

Jodie realises that Harry is not her father!

This apparently all happens next week, be interested to see how that happens!

Edited by Aidan

Very excited about the Ronnie storyline. She's a rollercoaster. I think she's the one who will lose her baby. Poor thing.
