October 3, 201014 yr I kinda hope that is true Sparkle. No point in releasing another single if he isnt going to promote it. What show were they on on the radio?
October 3, 201014 yr I was listening to this radio station, top 40 show http://www.heart.co.uk/dunstable/shows/big-top-40-show/ They always play loads of Robbie songs
October 3, 201014 yr This song is embedded in my brain. I can't get rid of it  Could be worse though. Shame could be embedded :P
October 5, 201014 yr I was driving to work yesterday listening to Radio 2 -_- Richard Madeley played Heart & I and announced it as 'here's Robbie's latest one'. I was expecting Shame and was just about to switch over to Radio Clyde when to my surprise Heart & I came on. And it sounded :yahoo: Isn't it weird though? On the very day Shame gets released radio is already playing the next single. ( I presume it's going to be a single anyway  )
October 5, 201014 yr No confirmation it is the next single. Sparkle said Rob said it won't be so who knows? I don't see the point in releasing it if there will be no time for promo. It is a potential hit though. Given an XF slot to sing it it would easily go top 10 but that won't happen if he is back with TT then. Better off just using it as a promo single on radio.

I think I may have got my wires crossed. (I think) it was Ken Bruce's record of the week last week and I assumed that that meant it would be a single. Well you know what happens when you assume things ... it makes and ass out of u and me! Kath It was also on Radio 2's most recent 'A' List which could have helped befuddle me! A LIST Caro Emerald - Back It Up Cee Lo Green - Forget You Elton John & Leon Russell - If It Wasn't For Bad Enrique & Nicole - Heartbeat NEW James Blunt - Stay The Night Lifehouse - Halfway Gone Michael Buble - Hollywood Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow NEW Gary Barlow & Robbie Williams - Shame/Heart & I Rumer - Aretha Edited October 5, 201014 yr by Kathyp
October 6, 201014 yr Heart & I deserves to be released as a single but the 'brains' behind these things have utterly confused when it come to shovelling out Robbie songs in recent years, not sure what audience they are trying to target
October 7, 201014 yr HQ version now on Youtube with a download link also if you expand the info section :D xNcW_TfYQBQ
October 7, 201014 yr It is funny how he managed to pick as first single the worst one from the whole set
October 7, 201014 yr The only track on the GH worse than Shame is Something Stupid IMO - they are sort of equal in terms of blandness in terms of the tune itself and naffness in terms of the lyrics. Yep I even prefer Rudebox to Shame by quite a margin too. Shame is too ordinary to be a single - it should have been left as an album track on the new TT album for the fans to hear. Heart and I would have made a much better single from Rob's GH.

October 21, 201014 yr Interesting blog by Gary - always good to read about the songwriting process. Glad to see him say Rob not only wrote the lyrics to Heart and I but the melody as well - I knew that the moment I heard the track. The melody (unlike Shame) has that Robbie stamp on it, as do the lyrics of course. I really like the music too though, and although I like the Flood, I think 'Heart and I' is far superior. :D Edited October 21, 201014 yr by De Niro
