Playlist #12

Dr Octagon: Ants

Kool Keith is back after a decade with a heavyweight new sound, but thankfully with his off-kilter worldview intact.

Contact: David Farrer, Outpost Media

(from album, Aug 29 - Outpost)

Matt Harding: Close

Possible future single from Moshi Moshi stalwart’s third album for the label. As ever Harding displays his well-honed pop nous.

Contact: Ruth Clarke, Best PR

(from album, Sep 4 - Moshi Moshi)

Various: Hater

The enigmatic duo’s criminally limited debut single gets a full release in the wake of their absorbing album The World Is Gone.

Contact: Nathan Beazer, Dog Day Press

(single, Sep 4 - Various/XL)

Lemar: It’s Not That Easy

The first single from Lemar's third album The Truth About Love demonstrates the singer's growing maturity as an artist and writer.

Contact: Joanna Burns, Joanna Burns PR

(single, Sep 4 - Sony BMG)

Broadcast: Illumination

Originally released on Extended Play Two, Illumination illustrates Broadcast’s effortless skill in mixing classic pop melodies with an experimental approach to sound.

Contact: Chris Stone, Stone Immaculate

(from album, Aug 21 - Warp)

Pop Levi: Blue Honey

A timeless glam racket from LA-based Levi. The bopping elf would approve.

Contact: Amanda Freeman, Sainted PR

(EP, Aug 28 - Counter)

Hot Chip: Colours

Hot Chip at their poppy best - taken from the Mercury-worthy sophomore album the Warning.

Contact: James Hopkins, EMI press

(single, Aug 14 - EMI)

Darkel: Earth

Jean-Benoît Dunckel’s solo debut offers a typically eccentric platter of Gallic pop, of which this none-more-Air track is a high point.

Contact: James Hopkins, EMI press

(from album, Sep 18 - Source/EMI)

Motorettes: Super Heartbeats

Album opener from the North east three piece’s debut shows skill, wonderful tunes and a great summer sound.

Contact: Paddy Davis, Bad Moon PR

(from album, July 31 - Kitchenware)

Working For A Nuclear Free City: Troubles Son

Innovative antics from the Cheshire act, who have been busy remixing the likes of Starsailor and The Rakes recently.

Contact: David Cooper, In House Press

(from album, Sept 18 - Melodic)

thank you very much.

by the way can you publish the upfront club charts of the music week, or maybee the singles and albums reviews?

There is too many reviews, I'm not a typist, it will practically take me all day, and they are not posted on the site, if they were posted on the site it would be a lot easier, as I can copy and paste.

can you just publish music week single and album of the week? i dont all of them, if you will have reviews of:paris hilton, christina aguilera, cscade that wiil be great

thanks

ohad

All three of those singles are very good.

Especially Cascada, but can't see it selling well, little promotion.

We have a members site that has lots of reviews each week if your interested, tends to be indie stuff and not the specific artists you gave above.

Paris is 15 in that chart she is #2 in the Commerical Club Chart.

I can see it breaking through.

Paris, Christina and Cascada all released 31st July so far as we at BJ can tell, somewhat different to hmv that has Christina out on the 24th.

Edit: Christina out 24th July

Seems no online reviews at Musicweek this week :(

Someone on one of the other boards where he also does this suggested it was Craig (various variations) who used to do something similar.
