TT album cover has been revealed. A clever idea to go with the title but I dunno - it looks a bit cheap looking. The font and the horrible colour ruin quite a clever idea if you ask me.

Well that's one way of saying it's sh/te!

Honestly ... I'm just getting round to the idea of actually liking The Flood a lot (even though it is very, very Muse-ish ... but I like Muse so ... no bad thing). And then this 'art' work comes around to turn the light at the end of the tunnel into an oncoming train!

Why is Gary looking up Mark's 'arris?

Kath

Edit : seriously ... it is just so very, very pretentious looking ... and that's me being as honest without being fanatical as I can!

I know I am on the verge of being hunted down... but I really like this cover! (I should mention I definitely didn't like the one for the Flood but that will hardly be a surprise to anyone here). Like the colours, like the concept, it is really way beyond my expectations! :o

It is simple, artistic and meaningful at the same time. (although 'progress' is questioned  the whole project makes perfect sence)

Oh, I forgot it also makes perfect sence with 'The Flood' now. The video is still on its own but it is clear the song is reffering to the 'biblic flood' , 'evolution' and 'progress'. I like the song a little bit more now that we have all pieces of the puzzle

I think the album cover is crap! Funny ... but crap! Gary the least evolved (naturally) and Jason about to 'jump into the pit' Bob Beaman!

Gary Barlow tells Robbie Williams he is still the boss of Take That

Gary Barlow has warned comeback king Robbie Williams that he is still the ‘boss’ of Take That.

http://i56.tinypic.com/6gz9k1.jpg

Power struggle: Robbie takes on Jason in an arm wrestle. Is Gary next up? Picture: Bryan Adams/Q Magazine

..After letting Williams, 36, take the lead vocals on their new single The Flood, Barlow was keen to remind his old friend and rival about who was in charge.

The 39-year-old described himself as the band’s ‘big brother’ and ‘I guess a bit of the boss as well’.

He told Q Magazine: ‘It’s funny because there’s so much of that still there. I kind of still lead the trail.’

And he admitted he was envious of Angels singer Williams’ success after he left Take That. ‘F****** right I was. The thing I’ve learned from having Rob back in my life is that it wasn’t being envious of him, it was more that I love being in the industry.’

Barlow says he is desperate to cling to success now he is back in the limelight.

‘I love days like today, doing a photo shoot, being driven here in a nice car. It’s a nice life. And it’s f****** temporary, unless you’re incredibly lucky.’

And while Barlow holds on to power, his bandmates are less paranoid about Robbie’s return.

Howard Donald, 42, says marriage has tamed the Stoke-born star. ‘He’s grown up a hell of a lot. I was so happy that he got married because that’s what he needed – someone to keep him grounded,’ he said.

‘Most of the s*** that went on was between Rob and Gary anyway. With me, I remember him saying on the TV once that he thought I was cool. I didn’t care what he said about the others after that,’ he added.

Donald insists the reunion is not to keep the headlines going. ‘We don’t need him and he doesn’t need us,’ said the straight-talking singer.

Take That show 'ascent of man'

Take That are showing their musical evolution - by stripping to ape the famous "ascent of man" image.

The reunited group are pictured on the cover of forthcoming album Progress in a primal Darwin-esque shot.

Top photographer Nadav Kander - who has photographed US president Barack Obama - created the shot which sees the slightly blurred figures against a vivid yellow background.

The image is usually used to show man's progress from primate over the course of several million years.

The album is said to mark a radical change in style, with less emphasis on ballads and more experimentation with electronic pop.

Kander's artwork has previously featured on albums by Snow Patrol and Richard Ashcroft.

Progress - which is out on November 22 - marks the return of Robbie Williams to the group after he quit in 1995, although it is the group's third album since re-forming in 2005.

The album includes new single The Flood which is also out next month.

Other songs on the ten-track album include Kidz, Pretty Things and Underground Machine. There is also an intensely personal song by Mark Owen, What Do You Want From Me?.

Robbie Williams: Take That nearly changed name to The English for comeback

Singer Robbie Williams says temporary Take That name change inspired new sound

Robbie Williams has revealed that Take That were going to call themselves The English when they reunited as a five-piece.

The singer says bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen wanted to mix things up.

But instead the boys decide to change their sound rather than the group's name.

'I think the initial idea of not being called Take That freed Gary up,' Robbie, 36, tells Q.

Take That's new album Progress is out on 22 November.

It features less ballads and more experimentation with an electronic pop sound. :w00t: (That will go down well with the housewives... :D )

Reformed Take That Do Q Magazine, December 2010

20th October 2010

Softpedia

Before taking Robbie Williams back and starting work on a new album as a 5-member band again, Take That were considering going by the name The English, the boys reveal in the December 2010 issue of Q Magazine.

In the same interview, they also talk about working together after 15 years without Robbie and of constant feuding between him and Gary Barlow, and how they hope their upcoming album will mark a new stage in the band’s evolution.

It’s no wonder it’s called “Progress” then. The former teen idols have come a long way, learning to put aside all their differences and to work together for a common goal, that of making music and ensuring their staying power in the industry.

Speaking of differences put aside, both Robbie and Gary are very open about the fight that broke up the band and how they acted towards each other in the years that followed it.

“[it was] One of the most amazing nights of my life, I went from having a real problem with this person to literally rolling on the floor laughing with him 10 minutes later. We were genuinely sorry that we’d upset each other,” Robbie recalls of the moment they made peace.

“[Expletive]-ing right I was [envious],” Gary says of Robbie’s incredible career after the split. “The thing I’ve learned from having Rob back in my life is that it wasn’t being envious of him, it was more that I love being in the industry,” Gary adds.

“He was getting all the stuff I wanted. I hated it when he had a pop at me, but it didn’t keep me awake at night. I was just longing to get back into the industry. It was snatched away from me overnight,” he explains.

Now that they’re back together, they’re also determined to prove it’s not for nothing they’re the biggest band in Britain at the moment.

In fact, another album for the reformed Take That without Robbie Williams wouldn’t even have been possible, Gary insists.

“After those last two records the thought of the four of us just going in and doing another... it solved all that Rob coming back. It’s made it interesting,” he says.

Starting with the artwork for the forthcoming album: shot by Nadav Kander (who also photographed US President Barack Obama), the cover shows the five members of Take That recreating the famous “ascent of man” image.

The album “Progress” is out on November 22 and includes only tracks on which all 5 bandmembers have contributed to in one capacity or another.

One of Canada’s most respected pop stars has photographed one of the UK’s biggest bands for the December cover of Q magazine. And, no—we’re not referring to Justin Bieber and the Spice Girls. Rather, Bryan Adams—who over the past two decades has built up a respectable second career as celebrity photographer—snapped glossy pics of Take That for the publication. Peek at the mag’s cover and the tracklist for the That’s upcoming album Progress after the jump!

Paul Rees, Q’s editor-in-chief, said of the lads, “Even before Robbie [Williams] returned they were arguably the biggest band in Britain. On those factors alone they’d be a Q cover band. The return of Robbie has only magnified that.”

Take That on Q (2010) and Smash Hits (1995).

This marks the first time all five original members of the Manchester act have been featured on the cover of a magazine since 1995.

Below is the tracklist for Take That’s upcoming sixth album Progress, which is due out in the UK on November 22. And don’t think we didn’t notice they have a song called “What Do You Want From Me?” (Holy Adam Lambert—what is it with artists doubling up on track titles this year?)

1. The Flood

2. SOS

3. Wait

4. Kidz

5. Pretty Things

6. Happy Now

7. Underground Machine

8. What Do You Want From Me?

9. Affirmation

10. Eight Letters

Who and singing what - but only a rumour so far. If true - pretty shocking that Gary is taking such a dramatic step back and getting only one full solo. I find that a little hard to believe tbh - and another thing - why on earth are there only 10 tracks? If the creative process went so amazingly well then surely a double album would be more appropriate after 15 years or at least above the average number of tracks?

The Flood - Robbie & Gary

SOS - Robbie

Wait - Mark

Kidz _ Robbie

Pretty Thing - Gary

Happy Now - Jason

Underground Machine - Mark

What do you want from me - Mark

Affirmation - Howard

Eight Letters - All

Maybe another album could be more profitable for them.

If that track-guide with who's singing what is correct ... I think it's great. I think giving Mark the Lion's Share will deflect all the 'too much Robbie / too much Gary' crap!

Kidz ? Obviously with a 'z' to distinguish it from the Kylie one.

Love the matching jackets, boys. :puke2:

Take That Planning 58 Date Tour

October 23rd, 2010 at 10:45 AM

Take That are secretly preparing their full 2011 reunion tour, but now insiders working on the concerts have revealed that the chart-topping band are planning 58 stadium shows.

The five-piece - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and now Robbie Williams - are to inform fans of the tour news this coming Tuesday, at The Savoy in London, reports The Sun today.

With so many concerts going on sale, it's thought a total of 2 millions fans will get to watch Take That live on stage next summer.

"The band realise demand is high and are acting accordingly," revealed a source to the newspaper. "It's unclear whether they will announce all 58 dates at once."

Take That release new album Progress on 22nd November.

I don't know do I want them to come in Serbia, or don't? Well, I don't have to think about that much, because they won't come, for sure.

I'm just curious, how they all will sings songs in which Robbie doesn't have any part?

I guess they will just make parts for Robbie to sing, or only sing early TT songs when Robbie was part of the band before

or just songs from the the new album, who knows. I wish they weren't touring in the UK at all tbh, everywhere else would do me fine, then I wouldn't be in a dilemma

It said in the Sunday Mail today that they are doing 3 nights at Hampden next June and the tickets will go on sale at 9am this Friday. I don't think I'm going to bother trying for them. I'll be at work anyway and I'm not bothered enough to go through all the hassle. <_<

 I've got the week off work, damm

I'm not sure I really wanna go, as you know I'm not TTs greatest fan, although I do want to see Robbie again

but................ I do know what if it feels like to miss the opportunity of seeing him when

he's on your doorstop so to speak :(

Take That will play 3 gigs in Scotland next summer - with Robbie Williams

Oct 24 2010 Exclusive by Billy Sloan, Sunday Mail

THE biggest reunion in British pop is on - and coming to Scotland.

We can reveal Take That and Robbie Williams are heading for Hampden for three dates next summer.

The band - Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange - will reunite with their old mate Robbie at the national stadium on June 22, 23 and 24.

It is the news that thousands of Scots fans have been waiting for and will spark a desperate scramble for tickets when sales open on Friday.

Take That will play classic hits such as Relight My Fire, Back For Good and Patience to more than 165,000 devoted fans over the three nights.

They will also showcase songs from comeback album Progress - released on November 22 - including new single The Flood.

The Hampden shows are a dream come true for football fans Robbie and Mark . Mark said: "Getting back together was always a dream but never actually seemed like becoming a reality. It's been an absolute delight spending time with Robbie again... but I'm still a better footballer."

And Robbie added: "I get embarassingly excited when the five of us are together. It feels like coming home."

Plans for the reunion tour are still shrouded in secrecy and will be unveiled in a blaze of publicity on Tuesday.

But we can reveal the band are planning 15 stadium shows, including dates at Wembley, Cardiff's Millenium Stadium and Old Trafford in Manchester.

Tickets, priced from £65 to £85 - go on sale at 9am on Friday.

Take That - minus Robbie - appeared in two sell-out shows at Hampden in 2009 as part of their spectacular Circus Tour.

Robbie has played the stadium twice as a solo artist - on his Close Encounters world tour in 2006.

Take That's Hampden gigs will kick off a run of outdoor shows in Scotland next summer.

Bon Jovi are hoping to confirm a date at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh in June.

Hampden is thought to have been their first choice but their date clashed with Take That.

And fellow US rockers Kings Of Leon want to play their first major outdoor show in Glasgow with Bellahouston Park their favoured venue.

I wonder if the dates in Scotland are the start of the tour

Guess we will all know by Tuesday, it'll be all over sky news

BTW is £65 not a tad pricey for the cheapest tickets?
