It enters the UK chart at #2 tbw. Looking forward to sales. :D

Thought it was awkward when Dermot asked if the single was released tomorrow and Gary said "no it was released last week"

I would not blame him for being scared first time back but it went fine ( his eyes told you he was scared but contained it ) ...they sounded fantastic in compared to Westlife whose song is kinda dead in the water in comparison to The Flood

Anyway first performance is out of the way ;)

Oops sorry. I didn't know this was here. I started a new thread.

Aw !!! That's alright Jups....the more the merrier

i really love the performance. the song wins so much when they sing it live. I'm in awe.
I really don't get why so many people are comparing The Flood with Greatest Day and Rule The World, it's not even in the same league as those two, it's very very average, disappointed they couldn't come back with something a bit stronger

I think it is in the same league with RTW. (a little better or worse)

Greatest Day is much worse...

The Flood is a billion lightyears better than 'Greatest Day' Rule The World is a totally different matter but Greatest Day is the pure definition of average when compared to either song. RTW is my fave though.

TT and their management were fools to release the single last week - once they perform it live sales increase hugely. Very annoying really.

The Flood is zooming up the Itunes charts - back at #2 now - and is catching up with JLS :o

Last week sales are in and it sold 69,484 :o

HUGELY disappointing - LESS COPIES SOLD THAN SHAME :puke: :o

The public should be banned from buying singles :smoke:

I agree with you. If they had performed it live last weekend I really think that it would be number one. I can't understand why anyone would think that it's bland. Greatest Day - yes but not The Flood. The album will be huge though!

It was NOT clever moving the release date forward especially before the XF performance so they only have themselves to blame !!!

I wonder what the second single will be

To reach number 1 this coming may possibly have been a better release date plus they would have x factor sales to its advantage, but on the whole it has almost 70,000 sale sunder its belt and could possibly sell the same again next week so sales wise they seemed to have made the right move. No matter how the single goes next week we have the number 1 album to look forward to, its just a case now of how much it sells.

The Flood is back up to number 2 on itunes now and JLS arent to far ahead.

Ya im shocked shame outsold the flood on opening week but long term the flood will easily outsell it on the long run.

Getting to #1 is not out of the question base don the current Itunes chart - it is catching up with JLS's single although I think once the album is released later today the sales will tail off.

X factor could also benefit take that hugely in phyisicals aswell so i agree number 1 isnt totallyout of thequestion, especially considering people will also cherry pick the flood of the album when it hits itunes aswell, but ive resigned myself that it wont make number 1

Wasn't sure what I thought about The Flood when I first heard it but it grew on me the more I heard it. When Gary starts singing it reminds me of a theme from a Bond movie, not sure why that is.

I think it was a huge mistake to release it a week before their album because most regular fans are just going to hold off (like I did). Personally, I don't really care for Rihanna's new single as I like some of her other releases a lot more but releasing this week they'd have still been held off the top spot by JLS in my opinion so it doesn't really matter.

The Flood so far has sold almost 48,000 this week so far so it should easily out sell last weeks tally bringing its total sales well past 140,000.
