The flood is a non mover at #2 in the UK this week with sales of 87, 453, which brings the floods total sales to 156,937.

Edited by Aphrodite

the flood:

week 1 - #2 - 69,484

week 2 - #2 - 87,453 (156,937)

It sold more in Week 2 than week 1?

Just shows what a bit of promotion can do :cheer:

Here it I laughed with all the heart))) The best execution The Flood. Robbie won't long hold on in group, the ego plays not childly))

I hope they will expel him after the tour, but not before :naughty:

Trust me they WANT him to act like this, he is the star-entertainer of the group. Look at them, they are having fun, I don't believe anyone of them is really jealous. (remember Gary used to be 70% of TT for a long long time and everyone but Rob was ok with it). Robbie stealing the show will tire them up with time I guess, but especially outside the UK-Ireland they are just glad to have him on board again. Robbie has multiplatinum albums and hit songs there and his reputation is a good start. They wouldn't want the dozens of Robbie fans who were on that show to start yelling at them. (I could hear Robbie-Robbie on lots of their EU TV appearences ;) ). They knew it from the start and they look ok with it, I really don't see any kind of trouble so far, it is all working just fine:

1)Robbie did his Rudebox part2=lightbox  + it was greatly received this time

2)Gary has sb with fresh ideas and a wide worldwide appeal on the band + sb charesmatic at stage at last

3)Robbie also has his friends back together and leaves all the plotting-scheduling-promo for Gary as we all now he is SO LAZY when he is solo.

4)The rest 3 are (especially Mark) are getting more involved in the music.

5)They all are super-popular and make a lot of money again.

I still DO NOT believe it will last for years but for the time being the reunion is fresh and successful and the 5 are drenched to the skin into success. ;)

(notice how triumphant they sing ''now they'll never dance again'' shaking fists  B) )

The Voice Of Holland Performance was great - I was startingt o get bored of seeing The Flood live as it was essentially the same each time - so I was really glad to see Robbie really sell the song and performance in the way he did - yes he took over a bit but I don't blame him - it must be boring just standing there doing the same thing each performance. I liked it when the mic wouldn't work and he just threw it behind him

That second video - the one from the Swedish talk show is without question the best performance of the Flood vocally - Rob's voice is flawless and so clear. The other lads sounded really good too. For anyone who didn't see the interview - here it is. The best interview yet imo - it's just Rob and Gary but it's a realy good watch. I think it helped Rob relax which is why he was so vocally spot on with the live performance.

10 minutes in http://svtplay.se/t/102974/skavlan - also the live performance at the very end. The youtube video is slightly out of sinc.

Why can't British talk shows be as good as this? I'm not even talking about Rob or Gary ... that woman on afterwards was brilliant.

Back to TT though ... I'm worried at how much I'm starting to like Rob and at the same time find Gary more irritating by the hour!

The Flood. Robbie won't long hold on in group, the ego plays not childly))

They're all equally egocentric, imho. And Robbie fits perfectly in the band as if he never left.

As for The Flood, i am so sick of it already. I just can't wait for the next single!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im the opposite in relation to the flood as i just cant get enough of it especially the live versions, i adore the song and it never fails to put a smile on my face when i hear it.

As for Robbie not lasting in the group im with you locott i think he fits in like he never left, and for me i think there are a few people who want robbie to walk out rather than believe he will, for now robbie is in the band and the results are very good and enjoyable can people not just simply enjoy it for what it is, if he walks he walks but until then just enjoy it, as to me gary, mark, howard, jason and robbie are having a damn good time.

Here it I laughed with all the heart))) The best execution The Flood. Robbie won't long hold on in group, the ego plays not childly))

Best The Flood performance so far. I love everything about it. Though, I do know what TT fans probably think of it.

I love how confused was Mark and when he took Robbie's part. And Robbie on 3:33 is like "I'm here, all alone, and I'm the best, the most famous, you don't need anybody else... "

Not to mention microphone thing.

And this 2nd video is really impressing vocally. :o

You'd probably agree with this then.

Robbie out of their League;

Scotland's top music writer BILLY SLOAN: PHIL RAPS TAKE THAT

By BILLY SLOAN

PHIL OAKEY of The Human League could not believe it when Robbie Williams covered his group's song Louise for his 2006 album Rudebox.

But the singer has written off Robbie's reunion with Take That as a publicity stunt to shore up the band's reputation in Europe.

Phil has sold 20 million records with the League, including their iconic 1981 album Dare featuring hit single Don't You Want Me?, which topped the charts in Britain and America.

He must be the only person in UK music not pleased to see Robbie reunited with Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange.

Phil said: "I'm a bit disappointed Robbie is back with those people. I don't approve.

"Take That are an entertainment band. It's just a commercial idea. "It's as simple as Take That don't sell very well in places like Germany and Robbie does - so let's get more punters in. I don't think Take That have made any decent records."

When I told Phil that Back For Good (1995) and Patience (2006) are two of the best three-minute pop songs in recent years, he said: "You're kidding me, winding me up."

But he added: "I loved Robbie's version of Louise. I've met him a couple of times and he's a real nice geezer - he goes out of his way to be friendly."

The League play HMV Picture House in Edinburgh on December 14 to promote Credo, their first album in 10 years.

And Phil is determined the group - which features Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall - don't rely on a reputation achieved by classic hits such as Open Your Heart, Mirror Man and (Keep Feeling) Fascination.

He said: "Pop music can do two things - it can make you feel comfortable, like eating a treacle tart with custard, or it can excite you.

"My band has always been about excitement and innovation. I believe every song should have at least one thing people have never heard before.

"But pop has become more like karaoke so we've got to champion the innovative side.

"Hearing David Bowie and Roxy Music made my adolescent years worth living. Without them I'd have gone into a deep depression."

Phil can't wait to hit the capital. He said: "I love Scotland. We started our career there with our first single Being Boiled released on Edinburgh indie label Fast Product in 1978."

I agree with Oakey that it is a business proposal but he's a sh/tehawk for saying Take That have never made any decent songs.

Although I don't agree with him that TT have never made any decent records - it is so refreshing to see someone acknowledge that TT will benefit from Rob being back commercially in Europe - it's generally only on Robbie and chart forums that people realize this. So it's nice to see coming from someone in the business, especially from the Human League - a band Rob loves. Although I feel a bit sorry for Mark Owen - aren't they his fave band ever? :(

I believe TT have not made any decent FULL (as a whole) album till Progress, but they definitely have some decent songs to date such as Never Forget, Back For Good, Everything Changes, Rule the World (+some great tours and live performances that are becoming rare with all studio acts nowadays). But then again this guy is the typical TT hater. I know a lot of guys like that who feel they have always been gayish-thrash, no charisma, teenage light pop and then bland love balads. This has some shards of truth in it, but musically they have produced some good songs. Don't expect people from music industry to fully respect them though, sometimes they get too selfrighteous just to make an impression.
