I really don't care what the next single is to be released, just as long as it

isn't What do you want from me :puke2:

Kidz from what i know is the best single, i think sos was used to promote the album but i cant see it been a single now, they done the same with the garden of the circus album they did a few performances but never released it but it added album sales.
Shame will be take thats 3rd best selling single since they reformed and im not sure where it lies in robbies best selling single although i think its his best selling single in quite a few years. Still good sales im sure wont make you love the song anymore kathy.

We are about to be proven wrong about 'The Flood"! :o The song will still hold on to no14 appearently. (which makes me think it could well end up being the best selling TT song after Robbie left the band)

I wonder when is the next single coming... Is it going to be in the middle of February?

I don't think so ... not while RTW is on 800K+ In fact ... I think Patience is on well over 600K now. The Flood has only just gone past the 400K barrier and its sales will definitely start to sink now ... with the occasional little peak around DOI and SCD time when people choose it to do a dance to.

Oh ... if there is some kind of disaster at this year's Boat Race ... it may have quite a big peak then!

Kath

Oh ... forgot about the umpteenth performance that they'll do at The Brits ... that'll get them a few more thousands.

I really like this song and am not bored with hearing it or watching TT perform it.

After all, it is very Robbie ish

Will look forward to hearing it live for myself ^_^ reckon it would be a great concert opener

At the very best the flood will be take thats 3rd best selling single since they reformed and like kathy said earlier rtw has sold well over 800,000 and is still selling and patience if i remember correctly is on 620,000 so i cant see the flood coming anywhere near, i think 500,000 -520,000 will the overall sales tally for the flood by the time sales completly fade off.

Again as you mentioned best selling single since robbie left the band, back for good has sold over 900,000 and im almost sure how deep is your love and never forget have both sold nearly 600,000 each so in overall terms the flood may possibly rank as take thats 6th biggest selling hit although the greatest day wouldnt be awfully far behind the floods sales either.

I like the flood :)

All you said is true... I just notice the Flood has an incredible staying power. At this stage I think all TT songs mentioned dropped like a stone (except for RTW which indeed spent a lot of further weeks every now and then in the charts. You TT fans watching sales perhaps can enlighten us with the chart run of the mentioned singles?

(I do remember the epic stall of RTW behind the also incredible Leona... my 2 favorite songs of that year)

RTW wasn't the only TT song to have staying power (since coming back) ... Patience's chart run for its first 20 weeks was -

4-1-1-1-1-2-2-3-5-8-15-15-22-10-15-14-20-16-20-26. Even after that it took ages to drop out of the 100. Shine's chart run was pretty strong too. With the exception of IWFL (YUK) the singles from BW did extremely well.

The Circus however ... I will agree I think all songs dropped quite rapidly ... quite rightly so perhaps ... although I was disappointed that UAN didn't do well ... the best song from the album.

I think Rob and Take That have definitely benefitted from Progress ... it seems to be the best thing that either has done. I still detest The Flood though.

The greatest day also had a very decent chart run overall and likewise sold quite well, its chart run was

1>2>5>9>6>10>19>27>40>47>51>62>52>52>65>44>44>50>67>69 OUT re 73

It also spent a further 7 weeks in the top 100 76>91>91>91>95>78>96

They both benefited hugely, I don't believe Robbie or TT could have released a new album to hit 2 million that fast and probably 3million+ sometime in the future. That said I have to disagree about Progress being the best thing Robbie has done musically though. It is fresh and very good (beyond anyone'e expectetions) but Rob's discography has had better albums. <_<

Well, watching the chart run of patience I actually think that all these top2 weeks won't be ever matched again by either act as both are album sellers... It is all about right timing though: it is out of the question to expect from RTW to overtake Leona, nobody could have done it at the time.

I wonder how the next single will do... I guess it will not be really succesful on it's own it will just push the album up again.

P.S: I am dying to see if TT are nominated (they will be) and for which Brit awards. I don't remember either act ever winning best album. (not sure if they were nominated, christmas releases are not usually chosen and Robbie or TT release around Christmas period).

As much as i love progress i also dont think its the best work take that has done, well for me anyhow the circus is far above it, progress is a strong album and its different from what both usually do and while its better than a fe wof take thats albums i think overall i would rank it 3rd behind the circus and beautiful world. I havnt bought many of robbies albums apart from escapeology and his first greatest hits so i cant make comparisions.
Week 9 on the chart and the flood drops 7 place sto #14 in the UK this week, and inturn brings sales i would think to in or around 420,000.
