I agree with Rich. The mp3s are so handy if you're commuting a lot and don't have time to sit in front of Youtube. At the moment I'm busy with college work, so listening to my iPod on the tram going to and from college is how I'm managing with this contest! :D

 

Some excellent songs in there. I'll probably vote after Wednesday when college has quietened down a bit. ^_^

I can never really tell the difference between a YouTube rip and a CDQ that someone sends me. Most songs on my Mp3 Player are songs I've ripped from YouTube.

 

But I listen to BJSC/BJUSC on YouTube anyway.

Like I say, I don't mind. It's enough to vote. I've voted. I'm thankful for the links. I just didn't want to listen to any of the songs I didn't already have more than once because of it. I'm no audiosnob, but I envy the people who genuinely can't tell between Youtube rips/quietness and something from a CD rip/iTunes etc. I can certainly notice it when I play them side by side.

 

Anyway, I thought the quality of this contest was alright. Not amazing. Not bad.

I wouldn't call myself an audio snob but I can certainly tell between Youtube rips/quiet MQ versions and iTunes/CD quality. But I have learned to make do - it's sometimes as much as 6 weeks between MQ and HQ versions of songs leaking/being released and there's no way I'm going that long without some sort of version to enjoy! With BJSC, I listen to everything on youtube, or just download whatever versions are being offered, and considering I generally only love 5 or 6 songs enough to want on my iPod - I just hunt out HQ's of them for myself. And more often than not I can't find them anyway!

 

It's irritating because I finally get hold of songs in HQ, like Broken Arrow and Ambitions last week when they became available on iTunes, and I'm bored of them already! I just wish HQ's of everything would be released onto iTunes instantly following the radio premiere - although I'd probably go bankrupt if this happened to be fair :lol:

The Pet Shop Boys are (virtually) doing that - the song was premiered on Friday and it's released in 10 minutes time :cheer: But I don't think you're really a fan. I totally agree that songs should really be released as soon as they're heard...
