October 23, 201014 yr I'm changing my rankings a little, looking back: 1. Matt - 8.5/10 2. Rebecca - 8.5/10 3. Katie - 8/10 4. Mary - 8/10 5. Wagner - 7.5/10 6. Cher - 7/10 7. Paije - 7/10 8. Aiden - 6.5/10 9. Treyc - 6.5/10 10. Belle Amie - 6.5/10 11. 1 Direction - 6/10 12. John - 5/10 Most of the changes are downgrades I was actually a tiny bit disappointed (it's easy to get caught up with judges comments and what others are saying...), looking back nobody really had a shocking stand out performance. John to go though.....I don't see him ever singing something different. Edited October 23, 201014 yr by Sabrewulf
October 23, 201014 yr It's a single elimination tomorrow...I think Wagner is safe for another week :D
October 23, 201014 yr 01 :: Cher 02 :: Mary 03 :: Katie 04 :: Matt 05 :: Rebecca 06 :: Paije 07 :: Aiden 08 :: Treyc 09 :: Wagner 10 :: Belle Amie 11 :: One Direction 12 :: John
October 23, 201014 yr Paije - Ain't Nobody 5/10 The arrangement was actually not that bad but the first half of the song did go over my head and didn't exactly grab my attention. The second half did improve but overall I don't think this will do Paije many wonders. John - Zoom 3/10 Urgh!!! Well, straight away I absolutely hate this song with a passion. ** shudders ** His vocals aren't bad but nowhere near as good as last week. I actually think John could be in trouble after seeing this. The uninspiring song choice made me lose interest straight away. Rebecca - Why Don't You 10/10 A first for me; a perfect 10. Absolutely stunning and faultless performance. Pitch perfect and looking stunning. :wub: Now THAT'S what I call a performance. Cher - Shout/No Dignity 6/10 I'm really surprised that Cher is performing Dizzee Corden's England World Cup song. :lol: Following Rebecca, you soon realise which of the two is the better singer...but Cher also "raps" (ohhh, ground breaking). I don't think this is brilliant but it's passable but the more Cher insists on adding raps to her songs, the more I'm going to become increasingly bored with her. Matt - Baby One More Time 9/10 Interesting song choice, interesting arrangement. Of all the male contestants in this years The X Factor, Matt is clearly the most credible and also most likely to do well regardless of whether he wins or not. Quite liking this performance actually - definitely a unique take on the Britney Spears track. One Direction - Nobody Knows 4/10 I'm in two minds over this. When Liam sang the first verse it was excellent. Then one of the others added ad libs and it sounded bloody awful. Then they all sang the chorus together and it started getting worse. Then there was the key change!!! Then the ending with the off pitch wailing!!! Started off great, ended up grate. :manson: TreyC - Whole Lotta Love 6/10 Hmm, it's good to see TreyC showing her versatility performing a rock anthem but for me it fell a little bit flat but still better than some other of tonights performances. Maybe there was some truth in the rumours that this was intended for Storm but he left the competition a week earlier than planned. :kink: Mary - I Who Have Nothing 9/10 The song that introduced the nation to Mary. I thought Mary sang this really well at her first audition. Tonight, just as good. Maybe it's considered a cop out that she's singing a song she already sings well - hardly a challange for her. Regardless, Mary does sing this song well. Aiden - Diamonds Are Forever 5/10 A definite improvement on last weeks awkward performance but I'm struggling to see anything special in Aiden to be honest. His vocals are still a bit shaky which I always find a bit uncomfortable listening to. However, there were some strong moments throughout the song but overall not brilliant, but not bad. Belle Amie - I'll Stand By You 6/10 Love this song - particularly The Pretenders version but also thought Girls Aloud did a good version of this in 2004. This performance is definitely the stronger of the two groups tonight. A couple of moments where the vocals clashed but overall a decent performance. Wagner - Spice Up Your Life/Livin' La Vida Loca 5/10 A guilty plesant himself!!! :lol: This is like something I'd see at a Pontins holiday camp. If Wagner is this years novelty act, he's already a legend compared to the nightmare that was Jedward last year. Wagner to score a novelty #1 hit in 2011!!! :kink: Katie - I Wanna Be Like You 6/10 Vocally it was good but I found it slightly try hard with all the "one more time" talking bits thrown into the performance. Not as good as last week but certainly better than the woeful 'We Are The Champions' a fortnight ago. Overall ranking: Rebecca - 10/10 :wub: Matt - 9/10 Mary - 9/10 TreyC - 6/10 Katie - 6/10 Cher - 6/10 Belle Amie - 6/10 Paije - 5/10 Wagner - 5/10 Aiden - 5/10 One Direction - 4/10 John - 3/10 :mellow:
October 23, 201014 yr I fell EVER SO SLIGHTLY in love with Aiden tonight, which is quite something given I hated him until the live shows. Whenever Aiden graces my screen this genius slice of lyrical prose comes to mind: YEAH YEAH YEAH We should do this FOREVER That's if you WANTED TO WOULD YOU? Cherly sure knows how to voice my feelings on THAT TOPIC.
October 23, 201014 yr Rankings tonight: 01 / Rebecca 9.5/10 02 / Matt 9/10 03 / Paije 9/10 04 / Katie 8.5/10 05 / Belle Amie 8/10 06 / Treyc 8/10 07 / Aiden 7.5/10 08 / One Direction 7/10 09 / Cher 6.5/10 10 / Wagner 6/10 11 / Mary 3.5/10 12 / John 2/10
October 23, 201014 yr Wagner, John, Belle Ami or Katie to go.Some dire live vocals tonight from Cher out of tune as per usual, Belle Amie who should have sung Footloose, Aiden what has happened to him, the song was too big for him and Wagner just go home.Hated Treyc's song choice and outfit but still backing her-Vote for Treyc 0901 6161 107.Matt will win he was superb tonight.
October 23, 201014 yr if its a single elimination this week, then how are they going to get it back on track- they would either have to triple elimination next week, or two more doubles
October 23, 201014 yr if its a single elimination this week, then how are they going to get it back on track- they would either have to triple elimination next week, or two more doubles They could do it at a later date which would make sense.
October 23, 201014 yr They could do it at a later date which would make sense. Maybe they'll do it when there's 7 of them left...so they get rid of 3....then they have the top 4.
October 23, 201014 yr I'm almost convinced John will be going tomorrow night. Only one is going and John sang a crap song and didn't exactly do the song justice - good but with a crap song would always come off tainted by this.
October 23, 201014 yr It's John or Paije I reckon. With Belle Amie having a shot at leaving too. Can't see it being anyone else other than them. Edited October 23, 201014 yr by Jack
October 23, 201014 yr 09.0|Rebecca - great song choice and she performed it really well. Unusually classy performance for this show. 08.0|Paige - Haven't really liked anything he's done so far but he sang that incredibly well tonight. 07.5|Katie - Wasn't expecting to like her this week but she performed that well, it made me smile - which is a rarity. 07.5|Matt - He did that well enough. Again, not keen on them pretending it's an original version when Travis did it and it's covered by acoustic performers up and down the country. 07.5|Cher - By far my favourite of hers to date, she actually sang it quite well this week and it didn't feel as clunky to me. 06.0|Aiden - Better than last week for sure but still not quite right for me. 05.0|Mary - Agree with Ms Minogue, bored of hearing the same performance week after week. 05.0|Belle Amie - Sort of okay I guess but very much by numbers. Not sure it was enough to save them but the positioning in the show should help them a bit. 04.5|TreyC - Didn't like it at all. Was a bit too shouty and was out of tune in places. Her vocals are very one dimensional for me too. 04.0|One Direction - Again the warbly guy was awful. Found it all very forgettable. 01.0|Wagner - Didn't even really find it amusing this week so it had no redeeming features at all. 01.0|John - Just abysmal. Song choice was dire and the vocals were cheesy. Overall the show was quite decent this week, the standard is certainly higher this year and it is far more difficult to predict who will end up in the final.
October 23, 201014 yr 01: Katie Waissel // I genuinely think that she gave the best performance. Strange song choice, but she sang it well and acted it well (very Marilyn Monroe-esque if you watch it back). 02: Treyc Cohen // omfg. Led Zeppelin on X-Factor <3 . She absolutely nailed Robert Plant's vocals! Hated what she did with the chorus, but she gave it her all. 03. Matt Cardle // Such a good interpretation of a really crap song. :lol: 04. Mary Byrne // It was inevitable. She seriously the best vocalist in there, a billion times better than Susan Boyle. 05. Aiden Grimshaw // It was out of key tbf, but he's such a dramatic/intense performer. You cant help but watch. 06. Wagner // He was AMAZING<3<3<3. Srsly. I lol'd alllll the way through that! -------- 07. One Direction, Belle Amie, Paije Richardson - The groups where dull tbf. And so was Paije's Chaka Khan impression. :/ 08. Rebecca Ferguson // She has so much potential!! But she wont get anywhere with Cheryl as a mentor. She has that kind of retro, Billie Holiday sounding voice, and Cheryl really needs to pick up on that! Make her sing 'Strange Fruit' or something. 09. John Adeleye // Who? :( 10. Cher Lloyd // She's awful. :( She can't sing, she can't dance, she can't rap, why is she there still? :|
October 23, 201014 yr None of these contestants are going to do much in the charts next year. Anyone else think differently?. One direction are a poor man's The Wanted, who are also awful. Matt is Mcelderry mk2. He's the type people vote for because he's nice and has a good voice. Can you actually imagine radio spinning his music?. Rebecca is a less interesting Duffy. Too non descript, bland to make it. Tracey is a great backing singer,too old, too much like Alex Burke. Aiden is too strange. Cher can't rap or sing well. She reminds of that awful Tulisa from ndubz. Someone needs to find her 2 annoying beings she can form a group with. The others won't even get a look in so i won't bother with them. Edited October 23, 201014 yr by -Desire-
