Does anyone know if Alex is doing any more promotion.Heart are doing a radio promotion for a one off Christmas concert this week but will she be on daybreak, This Morning etc.

i think the best she can hope for is top 20 imo...its a song from an album that has been out for over a year

id love to see her do well with Silence but i think she should have just moved on from Overcome and released a second album, it hasnt worked to badly for JLS

Alex is on #31 and #43 - judging by popbars it looks like added together it's around top 15 - it could be about #11-#13 but my eyes can't judge it properly. So I would hardly say its flopping. If it had a single download and cd, it would probably be competing for a #1

Id say about 18 or 19 and she will tail off after the X Factor effect wears off I predict #22 which is a huuuuuuuge flop for a single re-releasing a special rip-off edition.

To be fair, I think The Silence would be doing a tiny bit better if it wasn't for the fact that the single version is almost exactly the same as the album version which has been out to download for over a year now, I think, and is owned by hundreds of thousands of people.

 

She should've made it a bit more different, and throwing in a rap verse could've helped. :lol:

 

I'm joking about the rap verse btw, before people get angry, but I do think a remixed instrumental would've been nice for the single. And perhaps a guest female vocalist, like Leona, Beyonce (I wish! :lol:) or JLS.

Doubt it, i dont see it having huge sales, and its only #16 on iTunes & #48 on Amazon's best sellers, and not top 10 on hmv..

Thanks for that, couldn't agree more. I've always liked BEP but that was a total mess, just horrific!

 

You've also summed up AB for me. I've been struggling to put into words what it is that bothers me about her and you've just done it for me.

Well ofcourse its bludy increased, i think everyone would be worried if it didnt after performing infront of 15million+ people or something like that. :blink:

The sales just wont be huge, look at the positions on the online charts of HMV, Amazon, iTunes etc not high at all. Should scrape top 10 somewhere, doubt top 5, and if it does it'll drop quite quickly, the silence is really underperforming.

To be fair I've not even heard this outside of my own listening pleasure besides that performance and seeing the video about twice on the music channels, how can it be expected to be huge without all the necessary exposure? One performance can't guarantee a hit.

Exactly, just like Gotta Be Somebody & My Wicked Heart, no radio and Tv support, so one performance will not sell a song, even if it is X Factor. -_-
