Why has Matt climbed so many places? I would've thought people would've bought it on the night, or is that a fake version of the song?

X factor repeated on ITV2 on Friday evening at 6-9pm.

 

If he's shot up that many places from a repeat which only gets maybe 1-2 million viewers, then the boost from the Saturday show must be astronomical, and put him definitely top 10, if not #1 for a couple of days.

So Matt will chart even though he hasn't won yet? :lol:

There must be something wrong with iTunes today - a lot of songs are showing up that shouldn't (X-Factor) or early (Chipmunk, Ellie, Far East Movement).

 

It's possible that:

• the Irish dates are being mixed up with the UK ones.
• there's a planned iTunes freeze due this weekend that some of the record companies know about, so they want their new songs to get as high as possible before this happens.

Greatest Day, Patience, Shine have sold just about the same amount first week, they were just lucky to go to number one unlike The Flood,so nothing new here, but Beautiful World, The Circus were still massive sellers. I am confident Progress will be bigger. Take That will smash it with their album.

But the sales were generally lower back then, don't forget. The singles market is growing since er... 2007? And 2010 sales are MUCH more big than even 2008 sales.

 

This weekend is absolutely weird. I hope they fix it next week, otherwise we might go back to the "Friday release" times. :lol:
