The first single from the new Michael Jackson album, Akon collaboration Hold My Hand, will be unveiled to the world this Monday via michaeljackson.com.

The song is a duet with Akon recorded in 2007. The song leaked in an unfinished state in 2008 but Akon has recently completed the production. It will go to all media after its online debut and will then go on sale in the UK on Sunday November 28.

Akon says he was “devastated” by the leak. “The world was not ready to hear Hold My Hand when it leaked a couple years ago,” he says. “But its time has definitely come; now in its final state, it has become an incredible, beautiful, anthemic song. I’m so proud to have had the chance to work with Michael, one of my all time idols.”

Sony has also released the final tracklisting for Michael, the forthcoming album of new material from Jackson. It features 10 tracks, including contributions from 50 Cent and Lenny Kravitz.

Keep Your Head Up made me laugh and reminded me that Girls Can't Catch actually existed.

I don't agree with this album though if I'm perfectly honest.

50 Cent? Oh lordy, that is LOW.

I thought that was Flo Rida? :P

Seriously though, I can't see the rap collaborations going down well with MJ's traditional fans - after all, they didn't work on Thriller 25...

What is?

That he worked with Akon, Lenny Kravitz and 50 Cent 3 years ago? They were still relevant back then :P

If you're talking about the posthumous album, Hendrix has dozens and 2Pac one each year until 2006.

This release is a disgrace. Using demos from the past and market it as a new album while the man is dead. Eeew.

I mean, a duet with AKON as lead single ? Gosh, the rest really has to be terrible.

Now that I see the hasbeens that have duets on this album... yes, this is a disgrace, and I hope no one buys it.

I just think its a disgrace they are releasing a new album after he's died, and that goes for everyone else, Elvis, 2Pac etc...

Maybe their was a reason Michael didn't release these songs 3 years ago, and now they're getting released and he obviously can't do anything about it. I just think its a bad idea tbh, but thats just my opinion. :)

Anyways wasn't it Michael's idea to archive songs so that his children could live off the money the albums would make? That's what they said after his death at least...

As a huge MJ fan I will definitely buy this album and I hope it's good. I like all his solos so pretty sure this will be decent at least because these are his songs (or that's what I'm hoping before hearing them).

However, I understand people think it's a disgrace when the artist is not there any more to have the final word.

I can understand it too, but since he would have doubtlessly released more material if he hadn't died, it's fair enough. He will ahve made it clear what was for release, and what wasn't. The tracklist looks intriguing to me, isn't Much Too Soon the demo version of Gone To Soon? And I hope Behind The Mask is his (actual) version of this...

I think its a disgrace too. Maybe I could get a demo of Mariah after some decades and sing a duet with 'her'! COOL :puke2:

They should be snobbed for doing it. A bunch o m*********ers making money on a dead popstars back. MJ was hugely important back then, enough with him now... it is getting creepy. Perhaps we can find some blood from his jacket, extract his dna and create a clone! :banghead:

+ I don't think he would ever accept such a cheap collaboration attempt, he doesn't need that.

'Hold My Hand' was a really nice song, although you could tell why it remained only as a demo. This is all appalling stuff!

they should have left these songs alone...

if he wanted to release them, he could've done that when he was ALIVE!!! they were mostly recorded back in 2007, so he had 2 years to do that...

MJ made so many amazing songs.

Why can't we be left with memory of them?

The label want to make even more money by releasing unfinished demo's as if they're final polished albums that will ultimately go against him as a consistent hitmaker.
