November 14, 201014 yr Good one! Rob playing with Mark as expected! It is the 2 of them that are having most of the fun + creation in this album. Is it supposed to be Robbie leading the chorus as well or he just outsang everyone else? I think Gary's microphome had some volume problems throughout the performance! GOOD ONE Once again Robbie was kind of terrified at the beginning
November 14, 201014 yr Author Annoyed at Aiden getting the boot though. I liked him in a strange way. :( That Katie dame is never going to leave
November 14, 201014 yr I have to say it was only when I replayed it during the adverts that I was able to enjoy it. When watching it live I was bloody nervous for Rob. He seemed a little shaky to begin with and you could tell how nervous he was but as the song progressed and the others joined in he relaxed and it turned into a very good performance I though. A little too much standing at the mics for half though imo. But overall it was full of energy and a highly enjoyable performance. Not sure if I think Rob fitted into though but he was nervous and was concentrating on not forgetting lyrics no doubt so no surprise - it was MILES better than JLS and Westlife and should sell a lot of copies for the remainder of tonight I should think before the album is out tomorrow. :D
November 14, 201014 yr Take That fans turn on Robbie Williams after X Factor performance Take That's comeback performance on the X Factor results show has seen fans turn on the band's decision to reunited with former member Robbie Williams. What's that you're saying Take That fans? ..Re-forming for the first time in a live performance for 15 years, the band performed their new single The Flood - with Robbie looking particularly fired up at being back on stage with his old band-mates. However, his jittery performance was greeted with some contempt by fans on social networking site Twitter with many of the comments criticising his over-enthusiastic approach. 'So it's Take That back to being the Robbie Williams show....' said littlebead. Another Twitter user, iRycee, said the performance was 'more about Robbie than Take That', while mynamesamy_ described Robbie as 'pretty scary', adding: 'I prefer Take That without Robbie!' Mistajam also criticised the balance of the band's performance, adding: 'Does this feel like Robbie Williams ft Take That to anyone else?' Sharonkitten echoed those sentiments: 'Is this Take That or is it the Robbie show?! why oh why did they let him back?!' However, speaking about his own performance, the Robster told show host Dermot O'Leary afterwards it felt 'magical' to be back together with the rest of the band. .. Metro UK Nutters like those fans need a good slap <_< Edited November 14, 201014 yr by Cleo
November 14, 201014 yr Author TT were nowhere near as good as Wrong Direction though. They are talented beyond belief :smoke:
November 14, 201014 yr Annoyed at Aiden getting the boot though. I liked him in a strange way. :( That Katie dame is never going to leave  I know. Insane decision but at least it was made by the public. I am sure there will still be talk of a fix though considering Aiden is NEVER bottom 2 and Katie is ALWAYS bottom two. -_- Yeah Rob was deffo a lot louder than the others on the chorus as well, although with the verses he was a little shouty due to nerves although that delivery actually suited the song I think :D

Bet the Metro had the bulk of it written and ready to go before they even performed. <_< Edited November 14, 201014 yr by De Niro
November 14, 201014 yr I was sick of that Aidan trying to be all moody , glad he's gone & Katie is not much better. Hope Mary goes next week, she's becoming a big drama queen & a one trick pony <_<
November 14, 201014 yr i cannot understand all the hate for robbie.. he was an original member of take that in the first place and he has the same right as anyone else to be in the band.. c'mon... + i do understand people who want that gary sings 75% of all take that songs... but robbie is a global icon, a true superstar... it wouldn't make sense to place him in the background.
November 14, 201014 yr Author I'm getting the distinct impression that many of the fans of TT(Mark 2) became fans mainly because they hated Robbie and being a fan of TT was some kind of expression of their 'anti-Robbieness'. And I think this re-union malarkey has left them rather confused and angry. I don't think the TT(Mark 1) fans have the same animosity. He was part of the group when they became fans so this re-union isn't such a shock to their system. Oh well.....

I don't think that even Gary wants to sing 75% of the TT songs anymore , that does nothing for the band.... I never even know that Jason had such a good voice because he is always hidden in the background, maybe this is a new way forward for them
November 14, 201014 yr Was that Neil Taylors hair that I could see shaking away at the right hand side of the stage  ...did anyone notice
November 14, 201014 yr I'm getting the distinct impression that many of the fans of TT(Mark 2) became fans mainly because they hated Robbie and being a fan of TT was some kind of expression of their 'anti-Robbieness'. And I think this re-union malarkey has left them rather confused and angry. I must admit I didn't want Rob to rejoin Take That ... but I was starting to come around to the idea (and if I'd managed to get a ticket I WOULD have gone to see the tour). However ... the performance tonight just put doubt back in my mind. As everyone here said a while back ... he really is just too big a solo star to be back in a group again. This is no criticism of him ... he didn't beg to rejoin them did he? And he can't help being a solo star. I'm getting all sorts of flak on the Take That forum ... being accused of disliking everything Take That do just because Gary Barlow is David Cameron's chum (by the way ... whatever happened to that National Singing Contest that we were promised?) I honestly DID NOT like The Flood (or rather didn't think it was this 'epic' that everyone says it is) ... sure ... it was better live and my impression of it improved a lot. But as a five piece band ... they just don't convince. Kath
November 14, 201014 yr You cannot please everyone but 'it is as it is ' for the next 12 months & more & no changing that so the fans better get used to it ;)
November 14, 201014 yr You cannot please everyone but 'it is as it is ' for the next 12 months & more & no changing that so the fans better get used to it ;) This is true. And despite the media 'cherry picking' the negative comments ... believe me MOST fans (MK1 and MK2) love the reformed Take That. I suppose I'm just going to need more time to convince. I like the album (apart from the 'meh' The Flood) so that's a start. Kath
November 14, 201014 yr Author It's a bit rich to complain about Rob 'hogging the limelight' on this performance though. He does have lead vocals on The Flood. How exactly is he supposed to blend into the background when singing lead?  I do kind of know what you mean though. I too think he's far too big a solo star (and far too much a showman) to be back in a group. Successful solo stars need big personalities (unless you're Leona of course -_- ). Big personalities don't disappear. But time will tell. They all look happy enough and if nothing else they've produced a cracking album. :w00t:
