Posted November 16, 201014 yr What have been the biggest fall in sales/position for an artist from their midweek position to the official charts? It just seems that the midweek is a good indication of where songs are roughly going to chart, so it would be interesting to hear of any songs that plummeted a huge amount of positions come Sunday.
November 16, 201014 yr It's probably not one of the biggest, but Hurts falling from 30 on Wednesday to 50 on Sunday with Better Than Love was quite gutting.
November 16, 201014 yr I'll count big natural falls that I remember Hard-Fi - Hard To Beat (from #4 to #9) Shayne Ward - Gotta Be Somebody (from #4 to #12) I'll add to this list later, although loads of fanbase and rock/indie bands having big tumbles throughout the week didn't used to be uncommon.
November 17, 201014 yr Killing in the Name? You probably mean third because its chart run last year was 1-2-40.
November 17, 201014 yr George Michael - Freeek! (from #2 to #7) Paul Weller - Here's The Good News (from #9 to #21) [he probably has some others with massive falls, too] This is pretty hard though as I don't usually remember midweek positions :o
November 17, 201014 yr Oasis - I'm Outta Time from #1 to #12 I wouldn't particularly count it when iTunes data was missing myself :P But fair enough.
November 17, 201014 yr A number of the Ash A - Z series of singles were in the lower part of the top 40 at the start of the week but didn't make the top 75 on the Sunday.
November 17, 201014 yr How about a biggest changes? Would be interesting to see the climbs too Well Shout For England/Dizzee Rascal/James Corden - Shout went from 0 sales on Tuesday mids to #1 on over 100k sales on Sunday :P But that was a midweek release so I guess it doesn't count
