November 26, 201014 yr Wouldn't be difficult :kink: I appreciate that there have been a few isolated dance hits this year, mostly in summer, but it's hardly been a resurgence. Electro-pop is a very loose term though, electro-pop songs are done by every kind of artist at the moment. But there is a resurgence in male artists for sure, and I like male artsits, but it's not usually the right ones getting success :(
November 26, 201014 yr What do you mean flopped and over? One was a buzz single that ended up getting way more R1 attention than was intended - Obsession's supposed to be the big launch single so far as I'm aware? She's got proper label backing and everything, I doubt they're going to throw away someone who's gotten so much hype. The reason I said it is because 'One' was widely predicted top 10 before it slumped in at #64, and I saw 'Obsession' on the release schedule for this month and it was getting no hype, airplay or video play. However I see it's now disappeared, so I hope you're right about them pushing it next year.
November 26, 201014 yr Maybe Natalia Kills? She has been getting some hype and Mirrors is getting an official release next year.
November 26, 201014 yr Maybe Natalia Kills? She has been getting some hype and Mirrors is getting an official release next year. Just about to say her! Surprised no ones mentioned her. And obviously not new artists, but I think Jessie J and Alexis Jordan will be pretty big next year ^_^.
November 26, 201014 yr Spark and Claire Maguire are the only ones I can think of atm, oh and Natalia Kills Edited November 26, 201014 yr by chart wizard
November 26, 201014 yr I reckon Sky Ferriera should be one of the Sound for 2011 along with Clare Maguire, Florrie and Yasmin, funny enough all 4 acts I have used or intended to use for BJSC comp. Also Neon Trees could be with a chance, they are just waiting to cross over, their hit "Animal" catchy synth-infused rock has already sold 1m copies in the US gM7Hlg75Mlo
November 26, 201014 yr (and yes please Caro, Tove and Zowie, but as if :drama:) I think Caro has a shot at appearing, her release schedule for next year is pretty big and she has been massive in her homeland. Tove and Zowie definitely won't be on the list, but I wouldn't rule out either of them for having some success here next year.
November 26, 201014 yr Clare Maguire, definitly. Bright Light Bright Light? Ed Drewett? ChristianTV? I hope so, Champagne Lemonade is such a great song.
November 26, 201014 yr A quick look through the thread tells me most of these have been mentioned but here was my list anyway; Jessie J Clare Maguire Natalia Kills (though I'm not sure if she's actually eligable..) Sky Ferreira ('One' getting proper Radio 1 backing seems rather odd looking back if that wasnt meant to be the proper launch) Sunday Girl Florrie James Blake Penguin Prison Ed Drewett Cocknbullkid (though she has been floating around for years now..) Rosana Starsmith

I think it was being widely predicted top ten on here by the same sort of idiots who don't understand the concept of hype and come in here posting about 2011 being the year of Britney
November 26, 201014 yr Just about to say her! Surprised no ones mentioned her. And obviously not new artists, but I think Jessie J and Alexis Jordan will be pretty big next year ^_^. I'm not sure if Natalia Kills will be eligible - she had a top 20 hit as Verbalicious, but then this is clearly a million miles away from Don't Play Nice so I've got no idea...

Rosana Starsmith Yeah, I don't really see Rosanna getting on the list, much as I adore her :( Cocknbullkid could be a real dark horse for the list actually - yeah, she's been around for years, but she's really changed her musical style in the last few months away from the very taste-maker-esque electropop into more full out pop, so she could actually get a surprise hit...
November 26, 201014 yr I forgot about Neon Trees and James Blake, I'm almost certain they're both shoo-ins for the list.
November 26, 201014 yr i doubt sparks will make it big? seen her at diana vickers and in my opinion she was boring dull and her music was nothing different
November 26, 201014 yr The ones I'd like to see are: Jessie J (for sure, she has to be there!!!!!) Yasmin Florrie Sky Ferreira Clare Maguire Tove Styrke (as if :() Zowie Natalia Kills Naked & The Famous Barbarellas Effie Her Majesty & The Wolf (might be too late as SITE is released before) Rosanna (again, little chance :() Neon Hitch Sunday Girl All female :o Except the guy in HMATW and The Naked & The Famous guys (but a girl fronts them and sings most)
November 26, 201014 yr Jessie J isn't going to be eligible to make it on if she goes top twenty in the next couple of weeks...
November 26, 201014 yr I don't see people mentioning wolf Gang. i would personally like him and Florrie to break out big.
November 26, 201014 yr Jessie J isn't going to be eligible to make it on if she goes top twenty in the next couple of weeks... Hasn't the deadline already passed? It was 15th November last year edit: Oh, someone seems to have posted this years rules on Popjustice. The deadline was 14th November Edited November 26, 201014 yr by Jack Pilgrim
November 27, 201014 yr Hasn't the deadline already passed? It was 15th November last year edit: Oh, someone seems to have posted this years rules on Popjustice. The deadline was 14th November Quite, but I can't think of a single example where an artist who charted in the top twenty (or is it forty? I forget...) between mid-November and early January when the list is unveiled actually made it onto the list, so I think they do just take them off then bump everyone else up...
