Seems a bit random. Why 1998 of all years? Anyways, my top ten fave #2 hits of 98 would be:

01. Sash! Featuring Tina Cousins - Mysterious Times

02. Madonna - Ray Of Light

03. Mousse T Vs Hot 'N' Juicy - Horny

04. Brandy And Monica - The Boy Is Mine

05. The Beautiful South - Perfect 10

06. George Michael - Outside

07. Natalie Imbruglia - Big Mistake

08. Bamboo - Bamboogie

09. T-Spoon - Sex On The Beach

10. Fat Les - Vindaloo

Probably because 1998 had a bunch of #2s. I'm not sure of the other years TBH. Edit: There were a bunch of #2s in the 00s, actually. Hmm...

I love almost all of them in one way or another. Only hate Will Smith, Puff Daddy and 911, and don't really care about Backstreet Boys or Bamboogie.

The best is Pras Michel though, followed by Brandy/Ma$e.

I picked 1998 as I think the majority of them should have been number 1's

Pras Michel definitely should have been #1... kept off by Billie Piper and Another Level (in different weeks) :( And it kicked both their asses in overall sales...

By the way, you forgot Jay-Z's Hard Knock Life in the first post.

The only one of those I even *know*, is Madonna's. :P

Really? I admit that most of these are (regrettably) very much forgotten, but how can you not know Brandy & Monica and Stardust at least, which have stood the test of time far better than the rest of them... plus some of these like Pras, Mousse T etc. were properly huge at the time :o

Sash & Tina Cousins by miles. Also like Natalie Imbruglia, Bamboogie, Mousse T, T-Spoon, Five (both) and Brandy (both).

Natalie Imbruglia - Big Mistake

Amazing year for music in my opinion

Is that Pras Michel song the one that samples Islands In The Stream?

No thanks.

I actually love Until The Time Is Through. Usually boyband ballads are awful but I have a major weakness for that one. Mind you, I had a major weakness for Five in general.

And you didn't listen to the radio either?

Well, okay. I guess it must have been quite a shock for you to come back after 18 years to see urban music on top

The Stardust song is the biggest 'should have been #1' moment there.

Held off by bloody Boyzone

It was leading for most of the week too, I believe, but Boyzone overtook on weekend sales. Not to rub salt in the wound or anything.

No, I didn't listen to the radio either.

Re-checking the list, I do know the Stardust one too, but IIRC it has a repulsive video.
