Second listen: I LOVE IT. It's nowhere as good as the songs I mentioned previously (and most tracks on her two albums are better) but it's amazingly catchy and dancey. The "inspirational" message thing doesn't wash with me either, but it's not as pretentious as it could've been.

With all the hype it was almost impossible not to be underwhelmed. It's growing on me with every listen though. It's a fun song and super catchy. The production is so messy though - sometimes less is more!

If Born This Way makes it to enter at number 1 in Billboard Hot 100 this week, it will be the 1000th number 1! Really hope she makes it!

Can anyone explain wtf "capital H I M" is all about? That lyric makes no sense to me.

I actually really like it, I was kind of dreading it'd be awful but it's different to what she's done before, and I really appreciate that.

I'd say I prefer all her other singles to it at this stage (bar 'Telephone' of course), but I'm pleased with it. Catchy!

I think she could be referring to God, as people always use capitals when writing Him.

??

I thought she was referring to God, although I may be wrong.

Edit: Regina beat me to it.

Yep, 99% certain that the first line translates as "whether you're a big fat gayer or a right wing Christian bast*rd".

Ha!

Thanks everyone, that does make sense ^_^

Let me start off by saying to compare this to Britney's HIAM is completely stupid they are two completely different songs. It really annoys the $h!t out of me how people CONSTANTLY try to compare the two. They really both have different and distinct styles... So let us not start. Anyways, on first listen I really like it!

02. GaGa

haaaaaaaaaa but seriously, this is awful!

It's definatly a little underwhelming to what I was expecting, and for someone like GaGa, I think the real problem is that it's just too ordinary. I think had anyone else returned with this, it would be fine, but considering how amazingly recieved previous material has been and how much hype had been built up, I suppose the lacklusture reception was inevitable..

I do like it though, and if anything I like it more on first listen than I did on Bad Romances first listen. Still, despise some of the lyrics but there we are.

Sadly, the comparison will never stop! Probably both find each other interesting! This will always be a war between fans (as happens with Madonna vs Kylie, JLo vs Beyonce etc.).

After a few listens I personally LOVE it. I don't really see the comparison's to Madonna's 'Express Yourself', apart from the melody in the chorus. I actually wasn't expecting it to sound like this at all, but it's much better than what I was imagining! :D

Kylie and J-Lo :kink:

    This was worth the wait, slugging it out in school! It's just amazing (as Kay said, it's not the word!) Of course it's no Pokerface or Bad Romance, but it's still the best song I've heard in 2011 so far!

Momma Monster >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Britney

BTW >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HIAM

(sorry Tyler, I love Brit as well :P)

HIAM is boring to me now, but I know this will never cease! PUT YOUR PAWS UP!

Btw, welcome back Kay :D
