I've said this on the US iTunes forum... it is a travesty that Bad Romance was kept from #1 by Empire State of Mine (which was out of the iTunes top 5 by then but KILLING on airplay). But to be fair, the only reason Poker Face got #1 was because Flo Rida's single was inexplicably removed from iTunes for a day. I think Poker Face is the better #1.

No US sales yet, just rumors of 450K+...

     So glad she's got the US no.1 - it's the 1000th number 1 as well! :cheer: Looks like she might lose the UK number 1 to Adele! :o :( But then again I do love Adele and she really deserves a number 1 after her two number 2s! I don't mind too much if Adele beats her because she will stay top 5 for a bit and get number 1 when the video comes out!
I actually don't mind who gets #1 this week between Adele and GaGa. For Adele it would be great, it's a beautiful song and it most likely wouldn't get another chance for it, but GaGa would most likely get #1 when the video comes out.
Oh my god - down to 3 on UK iTunes :( :( :( Jessie J is at 1 and the live version of Adele's Someone Like You is at 2! :o

The US success is actually the most shocking thing I have witnessed in recent times. Moreso than finding a used condom by my feet on the floor of my housemate's bedroom.

If anyones interested, the Grammy's are on ITV2 at 10pm. GaGa's performance should be on around 10.15-ish. ^_^
GAGA is on right now ITV2

Saw it, her hair looked familiar.....http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jCsUYYxrXY0/TNmnFRkrNaI/AAAAAAAAEcA/rGWsPyGxxmk/s1600/PHP48A5BD436DC1B.jpg

Apart form that, wasn't bad.

I turned it over (After seeing Born Chris Ways post) just as she was being brought on in that egg. Lucky timing.

Wow that pic looks a lot like Gagas styling. Another rip off :(

So people aren't allowed to wear their hair in ponytails anymore? :manson:

Regina, a bit of a fail comparison there.

Yesterday it was at #11 on US Airplay with an estimated Audience Impression of 74 million, up 10.5 million.

I agree with Jark, her success in the US is pretty fascinating to watch at the moment.

I wasn't having a dig, I am just saying that the hairstyles were similar, jeez.

...but you were using it as a criticism, therefore pointing out how shaky that comparison was.

No, I was just stating that when I saw her hair it reminded me of Madonna and that was it. It was meant as a joke.

Fair enough.

It also debuts at #1 in Canada.

Lady GaGa’s “Born This Way” (Universal) becomes the seventh song in the history of the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart to debut at No. 1. The fact that the song only had three days worth of sales activity and airplay, due to its Friday release date, makes this feat even more impressive. It is her fourth song to reach the top of the Canadian Hot 100 and first since “Bad Romance” in November 2009. It also tops her previous best debut of No. 14 with “Telephone.” “Born” also enters the Digital Songs chart at No. 1 with 44,000 downloads. It is the best one week download total since Nielsen SoundScan began charting digital downloads five years ago, surpassing the 38,000 downloads sold of Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time (Dirty Bit)” during Christmas week 2010. At radio, “Born” debuts at No. 13 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart with 10 million impressions, her best debut to date. She also scores her best debuts at CHR/Top 40 (No. 16) and Hot AC (No. 33)

I doubt this will be no1 on sunday. I suspect it may be no3 again. Its a weak comeback single.
