How does Madonna's song being inspired by something else stop this sounding like Madonna in places? Even if Madonna's was a cover, vocally and rhythmically this does sound quite Madonna? It's not a negative - she's the blueprint and ultimate female pop star.

You can't accuse anyone of plagiarism when you plagiarized first, isn't that obvious? Madonna had no credit and no right to attack an industry newcomer just for feeling threatened, imagine if Gaga did the same with Ava Max, would you defend her too?

Express Yourself sounds more like Respect Yourself than Born This Way does with Express Yourself. Madonna's luck is that in her heyday there were no gays around the internet to accuse her of plagiarism, everything was swept under the rug.

Not accusing anyone of plagiarism, just literally saying Gaga sounds a bit like Madonna in places in this song. It's not that deep, she literally does whether Madonna plagiarised before her or not.
I can't hear the sound similarity between BTW and EY, but I can clearly see where Madonna got the EO melody from when I listen to Respect Yourself, it's very, very clear.

Gaga dedicated “Born This Way” to all LGBTQ people in the audience at her Jazz show tonight:

“If in my whole career all I did was write this song, it would be my favorite thing”

Such an important song

That's so nicely put! It's not her best song but beyond the pop culture, probably her most impacting one. It was requested on radio stations numerous times last summer during the Pride week.

I'm out of touch with everything Gaga related at the minute so I'm slowly catching up on news/chart related stuff. This post really made me smile.

Excited to see Born This Way reach 400m streams on Spotify due to Pride playlists and events! Good for ha! I think Rain On Me, Stupid Love and a few other tracks will benefit too.
