At 13 in the albums chart we have Shontelle's suprisingly brilliant sophomore album. Her debut album was nice enough and had a couple of standouts (all of which were singles eventually), but 'No Gravity' showed us that she really took the gear up an extra notch! This album shows that Shontelle still has potential.

At 13 is a shocking entry for me! An album by Kylie 'I like to sing out of my nose' Minogue! 'Aphrodite' is jam-packed with single potential! It's a brilliant album. It's consistent, not annoying and without doubt Kylie at her best, imo. I'm really impressed by this album. Like seriously. Before this era I only liked a handful of singles ('Slow', 'On A Night Like This', 'In Your Eyes', 'I Believe In You', 'Wow') but I have become quite the fan of her thanks to this album! :lol:

And continuing on from the "shocks of the year" sort of theme, coming in at number 11 and therefore being so close to going top 10, is Miley Cyrus' 3rd (?) album, 'Can't Be Tamed'. With a killer lead single, which was good, if a little generic and took a lot of getting used to, I had no idea what to expect from the album. But Miley managed to pull it off and give us the 'Guilty Pleasure' of OHTEN! Brilliant album, with some cracking pop songs on here!

Love 'Ego', easily one of The Saturdays' best. Didn't realise you loved 'I Got You' so much :o I like it, but she has better on the album.

I agree about The Sats. But 'I Got You' is stunning. Didn't deserve to perform as badly as it did :( - I agree about there being better on the album (but that's only 2 or 3 songs for me - 'Naked', 'Lost Then Found' & 'My Hands' - I think).

At number 10 in the singles EOY countdown, is a song that I think is one of the most beautiful songs, I've ever heard :wub: 'Many Of Horror' is one of those songs, that just manages to connect with me, without it sounding dull or bland or whatever. The lyrics in particular are gorgeous, as is the melody and structure of the song. This whole era has been fantastic for them imo. I'm even calling myself a fan now, I love them so much. This will be in many "End of Season" type things now. Also, rumour going round about an X Factor contestant choosing this song as their winning single! :o

At number 9 is the fantastic Glee Cast, with their rendition of the huge Journey hit, 'Don't Stop Believin''. This version of the song, has propelled Journey's song, to legendary status. Although, some would argue it was already a "classic" song, I feel that this version made people truly appreciate what a great song it was and that Glee made their version of the song, their own. Which really helped this become as big a success as it has been.

At number 8 is the fantastic debut album from one of my favourite X Factor finalists ever. Diana Vickers was always my favourite throughout X Factor 2008. Her voice was like marmite and you will either love her or hate her. This album is a very, very good debut album, particularly coming from someone who entered the X Factor. There's some pop gems on it, all of which weren't released as singles. (!!!)

Up next is the fantastic, debut solo single from Bruno Mars. 'Just The Way You Are' has gone on to be a massive hit all around the globe and it's not hard to see why. It has a huge, anthemic, sing a long chorus, with a very nice, piano-led melody. It's very Alicia Keys, so much in fact, that there's several YT vids mashing both JTWYA with 'Doesn't Mean Anything' and you honestly can't tell the difference. One thing is for sure and that is, Bruno is going to have an even bigger 2011. I will be shocked if he doesn't end up in the EOY Top 10 with a single or two and his debut album in next year's officials.

In 7th position is the amazing second album, from Gabriella Cilmi! 'Ten' is completely different in sound, to what her debut album 'Lessons To Be Learned' had made us believe. Although LTBL was a very decent album, I far prefer this one as it is more her. It sounds like the sort of thing that was made for her to record, imo. It's brilliant from start to finish and i'm struggling to find fault with it.

At number 7, is the song that I ALWAYS play as i'm getting ready for a night out. 'Good Times' by Roll Deep was a huge Spring/Early Summer anthem for me. I know this might sound strange, but i've heard this song so many times, and it just never fails to get old for me. It's fantastic. Deserved to be as huge as it was! (Well it deserved to be a tad more successful, but it's a big seller) Not only that but at the point of 'Good Times' release it was their second, genuinely good song out of 3! (The other being 'The Avenue' - which people seem to forget about, sadly :()

At number 6, is the second album from Irish group, The Script. After a phenomenal debut album (Which is one of my all time favourite albums!) upon first listen, I was extremely disappointed when I heard it. However, because it was The Script I kept with it and I'm really pleased I did. It's a beautiful album and I'm pleased to see that it hasn't completely flopped in the UK charts. Shame their latest single flopped, despite being one of the better tracks from the album!

Just missing out on a top 5 positioning is the stunning comeback single from none other than Kylie Minogue! Kylie Minogue has been a roll this era. Her album, 'Aphrodite' is fantastic. I never thought I'd see the day where I said I'd like a Kylie album. But 'All The Lovers' is almost pop perfection! From the production, to the video, to her listenable vocals and the running unicorn in her video, this really couldn't get much better. The instrumental breakdown is also pretty epic and euphoric almost! Absolutely stunning.

Brilliant start to the top ten Jonjo :wub: I like Biffy's song and the other four are guaranteed a place in my EOY top 100 :D

Adore 'Don't Stop Believin' and 'Good Times'. Both immensly feel good, and will both be in my Top 30 YTD! :D

 

Never been too fussed on 'All The Lovers', it sounds pretty weak to me, and I've always hated 'Just The Way You Are', over sentimental and ridiculously slushy and his vocals grate on me tbh.

In at number 5 in the albums chart, is the incredible debut album, from next years biggest thing (imo) Bruno Mars. He's had a fantastic 2010, featuring on 3 Top 3 hits (2 of which are massive number 1's!). There really is no doubt in my mind (as I said before) that he will be one of the biggest artists of 2011! 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans' will be a pretty big seller as will his next single 'Grenade'. GO BRUNO!

Into the top 5, is the huge smash hit from Alexandra Burke 'All Night Long'. This has always been my favourite from her album, so to hear she was releasing it as the 3rd single, I was ecstatic! Really over the moon, until I heard Pitbull was to be on the new mix of the single! Well, that was until it leaked and he didn't actually ruin it. I think I prefer the single version to be honest. In particular the new intro, with the chant. But I'm happy this went on to be a 4th top 5 hit for her!
