Hang around...for the Top 75 lowdown....
December 17, 201014 yr The Top Pre-Order Albums this week 08 NE OVER THE RAINBOW - ISRAEL 10th Jan Interesting to see this listed although hasn't the album been available to buy in the UK for a couple of years? I guess the success of the title track in Central Europe recently has persuaded the record company to promote the track/album in the UK. Israel IZ for #1 :o

December 17, 201014 yr Author Why would you want to take downloads out of the chart though...? Trying to discover if anyone over 45 has actually bought any singles this Christmas!
December 17, 201014 yr ^ To be fair though, I doubt most people over 45 have even heard songs like Whip My Hair, The Time or What's My Name? There'd probably be worldwide uproar if they heard The Time.
December 17, 201014 yr 24th January for the next Glee album? HMV & Amazon have it down for 21st February  Shame about 'Knight & Day' going in low on the DVD chart, I love that movie :(
December 17, 201014 yr Author ^ To be fair though, I doubt most people over 45 have even heard songs like Whip My Hair, The Time or What's My Name? There'd probably be worldwide uproar if they heard The Time. Probably a case of the 45plus group would back the Songs that are played on Smooth Radio (for the Ladies) & maybe Absolute (for the men). So the likes of Rumer would come up trumps & maybe a touch of Kylie & Akon. Although I don't imagine too many would care for the irritating Akon without Michael Jackson on it! It's a fallacy that over 45s listen to Radio 2 in millions. They should be concentrating on them, but do not. So, all we are left with is Independant Radio. In my case it hads to be Smooth, but it isn't a very good station because of the repetetive playlists. They just try to pull listeners with a line up of Simon Bates, Pat Sharp, Mark Goodier, & Andy Peebles...strange really because at one time or another, all 5 of them have presented Chart Shows.
December 17, 201014 yr With the rate Kylie's now climbing iTunes because of Royal Variety, is there a chance she could stay top 40 this week from being #42 here?
December 17, 201014 yr Author With the rate Kylie's now climbing iTunes because of Royal Variety, is there a chance she could stay top 40 this week from being #42 here? She'll likely knock out Corey Taylor as on Wednesday she was only at number 50.

December 17, 201014 yr Author Here is a dilemma Three buses arrive at the same time at the bus stop, and all 3 buses are the No.12. Which bus would you get on? Probably the last one, not the 1st or 2nd because it wouldn't have many passengers & would probably overtake the other 2! Although the Number 12 goes to Woodley Airfield & only runs a couple an hour & I've no intention of going there. It beggars the question how did they manage to catch up with each other in the first place these 3 buses?!

My dad (who's 50) listens to Smooth a lot! It seems to be all old songs on there though. In terms of recent songs, the only ones I can remember hearing on there are The Silence and Rumer's first single (I forgot what it's called, was it Slow?). Although, I get the impression they quiet down the percussion in the songs and stuff. I recognize a lot of the songs they play on there, and I swear they're quieter than I remember them, if you know what I mean. I'm glad he doesn't listen to Absolute though. I've listened to it a little bit occasionally, whilst flipping throught channels, and it definitely does not seem like my kind of station. Capital FTW! The problem with Smooth is the number of Disco songs of the 70s & 80s that creep in. The missed hits of Paloma Faith are drummed out quite a bit & Mark Goodier's show is laden with mistakes. Mainly because he doesn't know what day it is, most of the time. They don't really know who they are aiming at. It should be inline with the old Saga stations, whom they bought but it just isn't. It's more an imitation of MagicFm & that's pretty crap too. Then I remembered Magic bought out MelodyFM in 1998 & that was basically the later Saga audience. Both stations, a tad messy.

December 18, 201014 yr Author Take A Bow only got to #16 in the official charts; perhaps you've missed a record out? http://www.chartstats.com/chart.php?week=19941224 :teresa: No, I used MRIB. And it was number 15 there. Which was equivalent to some midweek chart at the time. I don't worry to much about this word "Official". It doesn't count for much really. Every chart is correct at some point, depending on how it's compiled. The OCC lot have a lot to answer for as much as any other chart, especially when they to don't always research enough to include everything that has been paid for. It only happens to be a Chart broadcasted by Radio One, & they ain't got hardly any listeners anyway. Then the thread is based on, & tributed to MRIB's Charts anyway.

December 18, 201014 yr Author What do you mean by "they don't always research enough to include everything that has been paid for"? Maybe this nutter has a point then: http://therealchart.blogspot.com/ I would have loved Ellie to be #1 last week, but it didn't happen :P He's got some true points. If I could actually read the charts without going blind, I might judge a bit better. My major point is the non inclusion about unregistered tracks, not being included. Milward Brown do the research for OCC. This register business, is rather comical. When someone has registered summat or not, is neither here nor there. I mean someone bought the damn thing, didn't they!
December 18, 201014 yr Corey at #39, perilous position but I hope he can stay in, he deserves it! Also I think I may be going mad, but I watched all of the Royal Variety show and I swear Kylie wasn't in it. I'm not even joking! I can't remember her being in it at all, what did she sing?!
