^^ These exact thoughts spring to my mind recently too. But then again, loads of people doubted about Nadine's album coming out... And it was released after all. Yes, it flopped, but it was at least released!
As much as I'd love for Keisha to get success, at the moment I'd rather just get the album, even if it doesn't do amazingly well commerically.

She might not release it until September to get out of the way of the Sugababes comeback.

Who knows.

The woman is a proper perfectionist and she's still studioing it up so it's obviously not up to her standards yet. I have a feeling that she'd like to have spent longer recording all of the Sugababes albums [Apart from One Touch].

Dunno if this has been mentioned on here but she's been dropped from Island Records..

Have you got a source/link for that?

LOL if it's true. Nadine all over again. At this rate she's not even going to get the token "I'm solo now y'all" Top 10 hit that Mutya got.

It's been posted on Popjustice forums for a while but there has never been any confirmation for Island or Keisha anywhere.

She has allegedly sued the shit out of them to the point that Jade and Amelle get nothing so it wouldn't be surprising at all.

She's Keisha Buchanan, it's not as if someone wouldn't sign her again instantly, she appears to be very well respected in the music industry. Bitch or not.

I love how you say "She's Keisha Buchanan" as if she's a big name. She was only ever the black one from Sugababes to the general public and with each passing month her opportunity at making herself anymore than that is fading...

Good for her for suing the pants off them though. I obviously don't know what went down but she seemed to have every right to take them for every penny after the way she was treated.

She's not well known to the public, but in the industry she is well known and respected. Supposedly producers wouldn't work with the babes until Keisha turned up.

I love how people equate taking a long time to work on an album and making sure it's good with no release and flopping! It's only been like a year, chill out. It's hardly on the Nicole scherzinger or jamelia level, yet anyway. That said, i would love to hear a single soon :/

The industry doesn't mean anything if you're generally forgotten by the people who will buy your records. She needs to get something out post haste! (Assuming its good, I don't want any old tripe thanks MUTYA.)

Let's be honest, without the Sugababes tag, Keisha is pretty much a nobody to 99% of the general public. Like it or not, the Girls Aloud members are all known individually far more than the Sugababes - past and present. Like Andre said, she's only known as "the black one from the Sugababes" to the majority. Definitely heading for a Jade Ewen/Nadina Coyle solo career unfortunately. If it gets that far.

But it does mean she can take her finished Début solo album to any record label in this country and they'll release it in a heartbeat. She may not be a media whore like Cheryl Cole, but she's not going to be without a deal if she gets dropped from Island.

I really don't think she'd care too much given that supposedly most of the money 4.0 make will go straight to her, so she's pretty much set for life. Especially with the way radio pimp the 2.0 singles still.

Heidi, Mutya and Keisha never have to work again. Why do you think Mutya hasn't thrown a second album out, she just doesn't need the money.

Why on earth was she doing club nights for Birmingham Pride 2011 then?! And believe me, she looked ROUGH.

A woman who can afford ass implants isn't skint. Especially with the royalty cheques she gets from radio.

I think she's attempting to build her profile back up for a second album [As it's looking like it's FINALLY en route].

She does strike me as someone who get's bored easily though and can easily be tempted onto a stage with a couple of tenners.

Sugababes starlet-turned-solo artist Keisha Buchanan will be playing her first ever solo gig next month.

According to a newly released press release, the original ‘Babe will be kicking off her forthcoming solo career with an acoustic set during a launch party for the Jacques Townhouse located in Central London on July 19.

From the press release:

This summer, Jacques has partnered with singing sensation Keisha Buchanan, as the lady of The Jacques Townhouse. The singer-songwriter and founding member of the BRIT Award-winning girl group the Sugababes, has stamped her signature sassy style on this year’s Townhouse, to create a unique look and Keisha will perform her first ever solo gig at the The Jacques Townhouse on July 19th!

The London Townhouse will be launched with a celebrityparty on Tuesday 19th July, hosted by Keisha, who will also perform an exclusive acoustic set featuring original material from her eagerly anticipated, forthcoming debut solo album.

Keisha says, “I’m very excited to be involved with The Jacques Townhouses. I love fashion and playing dress up, so the thought of a space dedicated to that, is my idea of perfection!”

The Jacques Townhouse location is still “top secret” for now, so you’ll need to RSVP at their official Facebook page to learn the location and reserve tickets.
