Although there was something a little heart warming about Save You Love, wasn't there? And how Culture Club & Shakin' Stevens were so close behind those 2 on that Friday. Richard Allinson certainly thought so on his UK Top 30 on Capital. Shame about Tommy Vance wasn't it? Did Radio One miss a trick there in 1982, they could've reinstated Alan Freeman on the Top 40, as his Pick Of The Pops-Take Two became Capital's biggest listened too show at this point. Where as some of Radio One's audience of the Top 40 were not too happy. December 24, 201014 yr thanks dave its fascinating reading this every friday, especially the old charts.do you have any sales for the 82 chart?its very festive - did david essex and cliff peak in the top 15 only?
December 24, 201014 yr I have read Alexsandr's book and it is amazing  hopefully it will overtake Jamie Oliver :D and thanks Dave for these threads, they have been very interesting- Merry Christmas :)
December 24, 201014 yr Author thanks dave its fascinating reading this every friday, especially the old charts.do you have any sales for the 82 chart?its very festive - did david essex and cliff peak in the top 15 only? Well Culture Club & Shakin' Stevens managed to sell some 200,000 that week & were very close to each other, but on the other hand Renee & Renato did sell well over 250,000 copies to get there. This was in a week, when even the number 11 shifted 80,000. Cliff did manage a number 11 peak & David Essex did rise to a top 3 placing in January 1983.
December 24, 201014 yr pretty decent!! interesting to note that take that is ahead of the now album - must be selling well!!
December 24, 201014 yr 08 08 OUTTA THIS WORLD - TAKE THAT LOL. Edited December 24, 201014 yr by OddOne
December 24, 201014 yr I am really suprised that The X Factor Finalists only have fallen 1 this week :o
December 24, 201014 yr Many thanks in posting this thread every Friday, shall miss it. Have a happy xmas and a happy new year. I wonder if more Xmas tracks slide iniside the top 40 chart come Sunday, some of them are just outside the top 40.
December 24, 201014 yr Adele still number 1 on pre-order album! she will easily get that number 1 and sell well! And two notable disturbing moments: 1. Matt Cardle number 3 on pre-order albums? Really? It's release day is in almost a year! 2. Inception stuck at number 2 only to be beaten by trash-obsessed little girls best movie Eclipse :puke2:
December 25, 201014 yr :cheer: I always like reading The Almost sat chart thanks. One thing I always wondered how do they get tv viewing figure info? Is it from a satellite or something. I always think it would be hard to monitor with all the channel flicking and such.
December 25, 201014 yr Many thanks in posting this thread every Friday, shall miss it. Have a happy xmas and a happy new year. I wonder if more Xmas tracks slide iniside the top 40 chart come Sunday, some of them are just outside the top 40. think slade and band aid will be top 40.wizzard should push into the top 35 or 30 if theyre lucky.mariah could be around 15-17 and the pogues will be top 10.as for coldplay they could go to no 15 if theyre lucky!!
December 25, 201014 yr I am really suprised that The X Factor Finalists only have fallen 1 this week :o they are no2 on the physical chart.should sell a decent ammount on the run up to xmas this week, prob around 75-80% of the total sales.
December 25, 201014 yr Thanks Dave Sorry to hear this is your last one though :( Thanks for all your work on this over the last few years. Check your messages in a few minutes.
December 28, 201014 yr I'm sorry to hear that this is your last weekly thread. Thanks for doing these threads over the past 3 years, I've enjoyed reading them. All the best Dave. Rob
