iTunes Thread Rules:

1) Any Artist bashing will not be tolerated any longer, please keep it in the respectable optional forum or use the PM/MSN facility, otherwise you will receive a warning.

1.5) Any flying insults will not be tolerated any longer, please just think before you post.

2) ANY POP BARS COMING. They will come when a compiler is available to post, if you are really that desperate for them add them yourself, its not a life or death situation, otherwise be patient.

3) Always keep the thread on topic, don't go off on random with an artist that is not featured in the iTunes chart for the week.

4) smilies post :w00t: , :cheer: , :yahoo: , etc etc. These kind of posts are not adding anything value to the thread, even 1 word posts, they seem to be pointless. Please refrain from using them.

5) No Personal insults.

6) Any stupid comments will be deleted with no reason given by management or the Chart Mod team

7) STOP BAITING each other

How can I see the popularity bars in iTunes 9 & 10?

Use this link: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...aultSeeAllSongs

Then select 'View' and tick 'popularity', alternatively, in the headings bar (Artist, Album, Time, etc), right click and select 'popularity'

Hope Olly gets another week in top 10 with 'Thinking of Me', #9 & #53. :)
Considering her album has sold so well and the 'remix' version sounds exactly the same as the original version The Silence is doing quite well to be honest

Yes, I agree. The song is doing reasonably well - its just a pity it can't quite make the top 10, but then loads of great songs this year have stalled just outside (Magic, Higher, I Got You, hell I'm even sure an N-dubz song that I actually quite liked did too).

Guess this could either be the christmas thread or part one of it!

I like Whip My Hair and the energy in it and the fact that it's by a 10 year old who is also Will Smith's daughter! But I really now like Your Song and it make a great No.1 before the Christmas No.1 and it's gone so close to getting No.1 but been sidetracked by X Factor single etc and it won't get the christmas No.1 so I guess Ellie will never get a No.1 in a while :(

Looks like BEPs are catching up :o its not looking that great for Willow now.

I'm surprised Alex is doing so well given that something like 700k ppl already own the album. Combined it's just outside the Top 10.

I think BEP have got it now. They're ahead combined.

I'll be happy with BEPs at #1 instead of that atrocious track currently at #1. I really don't see the fascination with it.

Yeah, I think the song is doing well. Its very much like the I Got You situation - combined, just about (or in) the top 10 on iTunes (which would give it the top 10 boost) but individually too far down the chart to get it top 10 combined officially, and it will plummet next week, just as IGY did.

+++++++++++++++

If BEP get the #1 spot on iTunes, then because they'll get the #1 boost and Willow will lose it, and also because due to the other version that combined they'll be miles ahead of Willow, they will definitely get the official #1.

Even if BEP don't get the #1 iTunes spot, I am 90% sure they'll still get the official #1 due to the strength of their two entries.

Looks like the higher version of The Silence has been deleted  Either that or the chart bug has struck again

I suppose it's a good move really as the 'New Single Mix' should now climb a bit, might even make the low top 10

Awful song :P But what can I do about it

38. Limit to Your Love - James Blake

Yay, back in the top 40 again :D Maybe it's because of the Sound of 2011 poll? Although it could just be because it got played on daytime radio again, the last time it got played it went back up to #34. Hope it eventually makes the official top 40 anyway.

Nothing like the I Got You situation, not sure how thats come about..hm.

I'm just surprised it isnt performing better as it is acting as a lead single to a deluxe edition of an album which is also not doing brilliantly.

Willow will be over moon with top 3 i think, so still great for her, cant believe she's only 10!

In this instance, it has been deleted, but the bug has been happening all day with songs disappearing and reappearing.

Its almost identical in terms of where the versions of the song are on the iTunes chart (high album version, about to be overtaken by new single mix, both combined top 10 or almost top 10, but not officially and will chart in mid-teens). Or at least it was until the album version was removed. If, as Bray says, this isn’t the chart bug, then its a smart move by SyCo.

SyCo should have known better than to lead off a deluxe edition with a song that was already on the original album when there are 3 other new songs to choose from...

I'm not a fan of the song, but it's actually doing far better than I expected, given that it's not a new song and (as I said earlier), 700k ppl already have the album.

... and, in addition, its not really the type of music that charts highly in the singles chart right now, given that it is, in essence, a 90's style ballad.

Not identical in the slightest.

I Got You was a second single The Silence is acting as a lead single to a deluxe album.

I Got You wasnt performed infront of 15million+ viewers.

I Got You was the same on both the singl & album version there was no 'new mix'.

You're just trying to compare the two to continue an argument in the last thread which is ridiculous. -_-

(also it didnt plummet, it was in top 40 for 6 weeks or so.

McFly back up at 14 I see - showing a lot of stability in the Itunes chart. Seems every time a new track comes along and passes it an old track falls behind Shine a Light to make up for it. Hope this continues for a while yet.
