I do not think you can knock Rihanna getting such a huge X-factor boost.She was the only good part of the show last night.She sang the finalists and the other guests under the table.She was really helpful to Matt to as he was not on form.

Lets face it - it's always unfair when an artist you don't like gets a spot on X Factor and goes up the charts - but when it's an act you do like, well it doesn't matter anyway because of course it would have done brilliantly regardless, duh! :P

But that's the case for every single act performing on the X Factor. :wacko:

 

For example it didn't help low profiles like Diana Vickers, Joe McElderry or Shayne Ward to get a smash hit at all, it only gave them an extra boost but nothing spectacular at all.

And those who made it real big would have been big without the X Factor too (BEP, Take That, etc.).

With Take That & Rihanna, The Flood was #2 the week before they performed and their album was always going to sell 1million, we knew that. Also Rihanna, Only Girl was #2 week before she performed on X Factor, and probably would have been #1 without X Factor anyway. Also What's My Name was #4 on iTunes and is a hit regardless of X Factor. So my point is, both their songs and as artists were huge anyway regardless of X Factor, so people will not start saying that. :)

What i'm saying is What's My Name was a big hit anyway before peformed on X Factor. Same with Only Girl, The Flood, and probably many more of the songs performed on X Factor. With say Diana Vickers, Shayne Ward and Burke their songs wouldnt have made top 20 without X Factor, so their song making top 20 was completely down to X Factor, but Whats My Name, Only Girl, The Flood all were hits before X Factor anyway, get me? :)

I do get you, but despite What's My Name already being a hit, it would have not been #1 on Itunes without the X Factor performance. The same as Meet Me Halfway probably wouldn't have been #1 last year without X Factor - it would have been a big hit.

I agree, its really annoying when people dig at X Factor and the artists who are lucky enough to perform on it, everyone would be 'for' it if their favourites were on.

 

+ With What's My Name that would probably have been #1 sometime in January so X Factor has just sped up the process, its a big hit regardless of X Factor.

However Diana, Shayne and Burke, their songs cant be called hits, but would have missed out on top 20 officially if werent performed on X Factor, so their positions are soley down to X Factor performance.

Rihanna would have done well regardless she just got a good and well deserved boost.Thje X-factor does not work miracles.I think the anti-X-factor Christmas song will do well as the whole series has been really poor.Not sure why we have not seen leona perform she has become a staple.Poor Shayne Ward though Dan Wootoon has gone to town on twitter saying that Syco are going to drop him.

It's because the entire era has been handled awfully. I'm not too surprised this isn't getting any radio or TV airplay, she's nowhere near as big as she was at first, and considering what's in the papers recently, radio and TV won't want to play her music, and I'm not too surprised since even I'm getting bored of her now, except a few songs.

I'd love it if Rihanna got Xmas #01 :wub:. Would be the best Xmas #01 since ... well, a long time. Obviously not gonna happen, but still.
