Everytime Take That perform on tv, rule the world gets sales boost and they dont even perform it, although i love never forget if they perfomed rule the world instead i could see rule the world going top 50 or possinlt top 40 again.

Take That will never perform RTW live on TV again Pete. The only time people will hear it will be if they go to the concerts.

I got fed up of RTW quite some time ago but I do like that Never Forget has gained lately.

Matt Cardle will disappear shortly because now the song is album only :o :o :o

No, it's a two-track single so it's apparently OK...

It's always been album-only, but it's on a 2-track single coupled with a 'Track 2' which is just an audio message from him. The 2-track single costs 99p so the Audio Message is essentially free, but you still have to buy it if you want WWC.

so to give 99p to charity you expect more than just silence back? i wonder what it feels like to be a human being like that.

i remember the days when people would give to charity out of their heart and not even expect silence back.

 If I hadn't seen your previous posts pushing this campaign I'd think you were on a wind-up.

99p will not be going to charity. A chunk will go to iTunes. When people purchase this single, they aren't getting "silence" in return. They are paying for the opportunity to give the Vs to Simon Cowell/X Factor or whatever it is they think they would have achieved if it were successful. They are also paying for a group of artists to get more publicity in the mainstream media than they've had for some time.

People are claiming that stunts like phoning in their silence makes it all creative. It doesn't. These are all gimmicks to disguise the fact that it's nothing more than a cheap cover version that requires no actual musical ability. People criticise the X Factor singers for being glorified karaoke singers. If that's the case, the Cage artists are glorified members of the audience.

I don't blame them for having a go, but it's a cheap laugh and if it will make you giggle, pay your 99p, but be under no illusion that it's for charity. It's no more about charity than the X Factor finalists single was about charity. It's about promotion of their own cause.

my last post was slight jokey, but in the end Cage goes to charity and X factor doesnt, i'd happily pay more than 99p just to help us have a humourus number 1 and to get on Simon Cowell's nerves. Maybe the track doesnt take alot of musical talent, but the amount of people at the recording who have musical talent tops the amount of people with no musical ability on x factor (i.e basically everyone on x factor is musically void). it is a lot about chairty, that's more of the point than trying to rip people off by selling them silence, the people behind it don't want money (hence why it's going to charity).

oh and by the way, they did'nt pay for any of the artists on the recording.

and 4'33 is one of the most creative musical pieces ever, try doing some research on what John Cage was trying to get across in his piece before assuming it's "just silence". He even claimed it was his most important work, and being one of the most greatest and respected musicians of the 20th century and THE most respected of the movement he was involved with, 4'33 being his most important work says a lot.

I watched the rendition of 4'33 from the Barbican that was broadcast on BBC4 yesterday on youtube - I found it surprisingly very emotional.

If you're going to download anything to stop TXF - make it Surfin Bird. :kink:

But I actually like TXF song this year despite it being a Biffy Clyro cover - I wasn't as outraged as I foresaw when I actually heard Matt's version.

Ha at people slaggin the failed campaigns this yr.last yr was the best chart battle in the history of the uk charts and wilb remembered much longer than asilly xfactor winners single which wont btop 10 in amonth!
Probably wont be top 10 next month because it sells more this week then most singles this year have in months! :coffee:

didn't rage last year go 1 - 2 - 38 - out

I already disliked last years campaign a lot, but compared to this years 'silence' it was very credible. Really don't understand why anyone would pay money for silence.

If you are doing to do a campaign, do something like a Christmas song or the original version of the song the X Factor winner is doing.

Very great to see Matt with such a good lead!

No-one knew what Matt was doing until a few days before the final, but X Factor haters and Biffy Clyro fans have sort of started a campaign to get Biffy to number one, I'm sure lots of Biffy fans that already have the album are buying MOH again to try and stop Matt.

I thought there was going to be a Kirsty MacColl/Pogues campaign this year. That might have been more successful.

1-2-40-100-out.

It has stuck around though and is at 332 on itunes atm.

I love this song ... and nothing can beat it sung by Kirsty and The Pogues.

I'd love to hear what a Shaun Ryder and Stacey Solomon version would be like though.

I see that, but does that mean it should be on the albums chart (because it's an "EP" - well yeah I know it's not an EP really) or is it normal that it's on the singles chart?

Sales of 2 track singles have always been dumped into the iTunes Top 100 songs.

3 track and above EPs appear on the iTunes Albums chart, but are added to the singles sales in the Mids, etc.

Oh thanks for clearing this, I didn't know how the iTunes chart actually work ;)
