Oh no, I just realised Invincible's 'proper' release (it's D/L only though) is NEXT week - it'll end up being yet another of those dreaded fairly big hits which peaked between 11 and 15 we've had so many of this year if it doesn't hurry up and make the iTunes top 10! :(

 

That's a shame :( I hadn't listened to it before yesterday, when I saw it on one of the music channels, but Kelly Rowland can turn any crap to gold, even Tichy Tantrum sounds kind of bearable on this. Still better to peak between 11 and 15 than to be an international smash hit that peaks beteen 21-30 (Hurts, Shakira, Stromae...)

On A Mission is a lot better than LO, but I still like LO, and it would great for her to get a number 1 :) But I don't really want her to, because if she stays at 3 or 4, RiRi may well get number 1! Matt will fall, and he might fall far enough that even the phsyicals can't save him... That said, I like WWC too, so that WMN or LO would be an amazing number 1, but I'd rather WMN out of all of them :)

Oh gosh. Getting serious deja vu here. Why does everybody hate Katy B so much? :( Lights On is a nice song. It deserves its success. The Katy B hatred is so over the top. Like seriously.

 

I have to say, it was SO funny when Katy On a Mission fell out of the top 10, and everybody was like "Yay, it's FINALLY gone! :w00t: :cheer: :yahoo: ", and then she climbed back into the top 10 like 6 hours later for no apparent reason. :lol:

 

I hope Lights On stays near the top of the chart for a couple of months too.

It IS a nice song (in my opinion, I suppose). How can you call it "garbage", especially when there's Surfin' Bird (appropriately by The Trashmen :lol:) in the top 10.

 

It's not as good as Perfect Stranger, obviously, but it's still pleasing to my ears. :)

Why do the lyrics and video matter? I've seen the video, but ultimately, I'm listening to the song most of the time, not watching the video, so it's not much of an issue for me.

 

This may come as a shock to some, but a lot of people like listening to songs with good beats, good instrumentals. If I want good lyrics, I listen to hip hop, not pop and dance music.

 

Also, Skream (the Skream that did that massive remix of In For the Kill last year, and he's part of Magnetic man), has remixed Light On:

for anybody who wants a more dubstep-ish sound.

On my mp3 player, a considerable number of my songs have no lyrics at all. Then there's those songs like Commander and Alejandro where I have the instrumental versions. Then there's those songs with barely any lyrics at all, like Barbra Streisand. Then there's songs in other languages, where I don't understand most of the lyrics, such as Alors on danse, We No Speak Americano. Then there's songs like Stereo Love where there are quite a few lyrics, and they're in English, but most people don't have a clue what they are, and could not care less, because they're listening to the song because it's got an incredible instrumental. Then there's those songs like Miami 2 Ibiza, Seek Bromance, etc. which only had lyrics thrown in, more as an afterthought, to get the songs played more on the radio.

 

Honestly, lyrics just aren't that big a deal for me, and the songs I like most are the ones where the beat is created first, and the vocals are added at the end.

Why can't Rihanna just bugger off out of the charts!
