Just thought I'd make a topic :) Matt won The X-Factor 2010, and his debut release will be a cover of Biffy Clyro's Many Of Horror, re-titled When We Collide. I was a Rebecca fan tbh, but he was a deserving winner and I'm so happy for him! Here is his performance, and I will put the stuido version up when it appears on YT :)

I think it'll sell around 600k.

It will be no.1 obviously :P

Great great version of the song.

He's so popular, he came 1st every week in the votes except week 1, when he was 2nd. I think it will sell better than Joe's and because of the conflicting campaigns it will get number 1 :) The most credible winner's song so far I think, will have cross-appeal
Bet Duffy's fuming, she could have made a bob or two this Christmas if Rebecca had won!

he should have covered this instead:

Good song, weird that they changed the title though. Distant Dreamer would have made a better Christmas #1, but Matt still has an amazing voice, and he's well cute, so I wouldn't begrudge him Xmas #1, unlike Joe :kink:
I just listened to this, and how the f*** did this guy win a contest based on singing? i was cringing the whole way through.

On the album it was Many of Horror, but when it was slightly re-jigged for the single release its name changed to "Many of Horror (When We Collide)." Getting rid of the original title and the brackets was the next logical step. That and the X Factor crowd would be too confused as to the name of the song unless it appears in the chorus.

QUITE. I do hope Distant Dreamer's up for sale, it would make a lot more economic sense for Simon to do so...

DISTANT DREAMER FOR CHRITSTMAS #1

Seriously, I did think Rebecca was going to get it in the dying seconds. This is quite a good song, and the studio version did amazing. He's been really sick the last couple of weeks, but his early performances were AMAZING.

As a Rebecca loon throughout the competittion, I was set to rocket through the roof towards the end, as I really thought, after SD and DD, that she had done well enough to clinch the win. Surprisingly, I wasn't too upset she lost, I guess it's cos her, Matt and Cher have been my fave 3 since the auditions.

Love this! Matt was a worthy winner - though I would have been happy with either Matt or Rebecca

CD Tracklisting

1. When We Collide

2. Just the Way You Are

3. First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

4. Nights In White Satin

Which chart will this be in on iTunes: Singles or Albums, as you (well, I as far as I know) can only buy the song as part of a bundle.
Im loving the track listings and i would love the 3 extra tracks to be the live versions as they were my faveourite live performances by him.

Thankfully the 'error' or whatever has been corrected and it's now number 1 on the iTunes singles chart. Surfin' Bird is number 3 and 4'33'' is number 33 or something like that. Don't think any of them will beat him tbh :)
Biffy might though... I can imagine a Hallelujah situation here :o
yeah i looked on Amazon and Biffy's version was number 4 (behind surfin bird, matt cardle and john cage). the chart is gonna be messy this week lol. We should get Biffy Clyro - Bodies In Flight to number 1 instead, now that is a good tune rather than that Many of Horror tripe.

He wasn't singing as well as he was in the first few weeks. He had been ill in week 8/9 and it was still affecting his voice.

He can sing brilliantly.
