Jesus, what a completely boring cover. I'm not the greatest fan of the original but honestly. Of course it doesn't help that Matt is such a non-descript ten-a-penny singer. A really really poor winner, not that Rebecca would have been much better.

 

I think about 600k for the week. The public will probably lap it up as it's nowhere near as cheesy as most of the other winners singles.

I really hope it doesnt do well. I've nothing against him but its yet another cheap cover version following the same formulae for xmas no1. I'm fed up with it and wish somebody was releasing something to challenge it this year, like last. It will probably sell something ridiculous like half a million in the first week.

I think you've misunderstood this poll. The first one is opening figures (first midweeks) and the second is opening week total... :P

 

Mind you, I don't think you're the only one - unless people seriously believe he'll open with 300k first midweeks without a physical! (CD is out on Wednesday, obviously)

I think it could be the biggest X-factor winners single as yet, its definatly the best one so far and the only one i've actaully parted with my money for...... syco may not know what to do with him, they didn't know how to sell joe ether but I think matt himselfs seems to have a bit more musical knowladge to take control of his own careeer...... I can tell by peoples reaction to him that he's gonna be alot more popular then alexanra burk and joe and olly murrs put together.

Probably missed this, but when did it become chart eligible for a CD single to have four separate tracks on it?

Ah, 'tis true. Unfortunately Aiden Grimshaw didn't win.

 

I liked the fact Matt tried to go with an "I'm going to make real music approach", but in the end, 'When We Collide' pretty much a wet fish that doesn't have a patch on the original, which wasn't Biffy Clyro's best song anyway.

Matt didn't really have a choice with his winner's single :P

Had quite a few people asking to buy it today :lol: How they expect hundreds of thousands of CDs to be pressed and sent out in less than 24 hours baffles me :lol:

I think 150k today with over 700k in the week, I think having the extra tracks on the CD will mean it will sell a lot more overall, my mum is only buying it for the other tracks on the CD(first time I saw your face mainly) so maybe others who don't like the main song will still make a purchase.
