Saw this, quite enjoyed it. Nowhere near as good as the first one, but so much more fun than "At World's End". The whole mermaid/missionary subplot was bollocks though.

I loved this film, arguably one of my favourite. The second one though is better imo my favourite !

Saw this today. Thought it was great. Not as good as the 1st one, but far better than parts 2 & 3.

I am shocked at the level of love for this film. It was a good film, but it was cliched and dull in comparison to the first two - and lacked the general 'epic' feel of the third (which tbf, was the only thing going for the third one). I was disappointed. Having said that, it wasn't TERRIBLE like many sequels this far down the line are, and there were plenty of enjoyable moments in it - I just think the franchise should stop now. I'll buy it to complete my collection and probably never watch it again.

 

Also, did anyone find the sub-plot of the religious guy and the mermaid totally and utterly pointless and irrelevant? The film would've lost nothing but TIME if those scenes were cut.

Not at all! It's not connected to the previous films whatsoever, though there are slight references but nothing that will hinder your understanding of the film.

Oh Thank you! I was worrying as I'm going to see it with some friends as they picked it and I was panicking I wouldn't understand any of it! Please say its at least better than the others? Although the first one was quite good (what I seen of it), I have turned every one off after that.

Did you not read my above post? :P It's probably about as good/a bit better than the 3rd one imo. It doesn't come close to the first two. At least you'll understand it though right?
