"Alejandro" definitely should have charted higher than it did on singles. -_-

Can't believe "Sex On Fire" is that high after two years!

Am I the only one that thinks it's slightly wrong that a song that peaked at #7 one week is the 2nd most-played song of the entire year on the radio? Alejandro is a good song and everything, and did well for a #7, but there's other #7s that could've done better with such immense airplay, like One by Swedish House Mafia, for example.

Yes, I guess you're the only one.

There's nothing wrong with it.

One- SHM :puke2:

I kinda agree, but it was already the 3rd single off her reedition and it helped the album to sell more.

Although, it was nothing as huge as 'Bad romance' or 'Telephone', and even the contraversial video was kind of a non-event, so it didn't really deserve all that attention from radios.

Still a good song though.

Yay for Alejandro! But with all that airplay it should of been a top 5 hit. I can see why KOL are still high up but I Gotta Feeling? Haven't Met You Yet?, these are songs from the past they don't need all this airplay.

I Gotta Feeling is a modern-day classic and possibly one of the most radio friendly songs ever made, so I'm not surprised at its enormous sales and airplay.

I personally think it's hugely overrated, I don't even particularly like it, but you can't deny its appeal and radio-friendliness.

I Gotta Feeling and Haven't Met You Yet are still on the playlist on the largest commercial radio station in the country...

I agree, I Gotta Feeling isn't the best song in recent times, like airplay, charting and sales figures would indicate, but it is exactly the song that would appeal to like everybody. It's genius, in the sense that it has such broad mainstream appeal. I think it's a good song, but Boom Boom Pow, Meet Me Halfway, Imma Be and possible Missing You are all better, but obviously those songs are more controversial (particularly Imma Be). Lot's of people will hate them, or find them boring.

I don't think Alejandro is too bad a song, but it's getting all that airplay? Like really? Like many radio stations go on a semi-supply/demand basis. Like the top 40 in the charts is basically their playlist, and they'll play upcoming songs if lots of people are requesting them, etc, but clearly some radio stations are just playing their "favourite" songs (i.e. pop songs that sound like they were made 25 years ago). I can possible understand that, I guess. Like if you grew up listening to 80's pop music, you're probably going to like Alejandro a lot compared to other 2010 songs, and I guess most people who're deciding what is to be played on the radio might be around that age?

That's just my theory anyway. I think if what got played on the radio was solely decided by the music-buying public, Alejandro might be #10 or something, rather than #2.

EDIT: Re-reading this, I use the word "like" an awful lot! :o
