8. Let's hope it being my xmas #1 was a good omen :kink: Seriously though, I can't see it at all - the only Scandi music that EVER crosses over to the UK is pop that can be marketed as dance music a la September/Agnes or indeed actual dance music such as Swedish House Mafia/Eric Prydz. Tove doesn't really fall into the dance genre by any stretch of the imagination and I can't see which label would firstly sign her, and secondly market her correctly in the UK. Of course I'd love it to be huge but the signs are that it won't even be given a chance. The charts are almost completely dominated by UK/US acts now - other countries just don't get a look in really :( It's all so much more closed minded than it was ten years ago.

10. Funnily enough, that's easily my least favourite single of hers

12. I loved Escape too, and Mercy Mercy. Telephone is their weak link so far imo...

15. It could well have been looking at the timing of its leak I guess...it's more or less the right length too

08 - Well Robyn pretty much came from nowhere with a similar sort of song, and I think she's on a label linked to Sony so who knows! I agree though that the UK music industry is pretty closed minded at the moment, however when a European song does get a push here it tends to do well, Stromae and Dan Balan aside :kink:

15 - I wouldn't be surprised if it was, and they are the sort of act who would apply for the competition. Shame it was overlooked if indeed it was a candidate.

Thanks Jamie! That actually was Pt.2 of Love The Way You Lie there, forgot to put Pt.2 after it! I prefer it to the original as well!

08 - Well Robyn pretty much came from nowhere with a similar sort of song, and I think she's on a label linked to Sony so who knows! 8. It was still marketed as a dance song I seem to recall, although it became clear that she was a pop artist with Handle Me and Be Mine following it. I doubt many people recalled her from Show Me Love! But then Robyn's HUGELY flopped in the UK this year, so I doubt Radio 1 would be as willing to support that type of music now :( I guess Stromae did about as well as we could have expected from a French language dance song - it had a few weeks in the top 40 and sold 100k anyway which isn't too awful - Dan Balan sold less than 10k :kink:

15. Agreed, especially considering the quality of some of the 'songs' in this year's MF. They were trying too hard to appeal to everyone with the likes of Py Backman and Getty Domein and shutting out actual pop quality like Victorious (and possibly Psycho!)

99. Rihanna feat Eminem – Love The Way You Lie Pt.2 #10

Great chart. Quite a majority of them are in mine too. :D

Hi Richard, here's some comparison stats and comments thrown in for good measure. :D

1. Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite #1 (for 9 weeks)

There's no denying 'Satellite' pretty much was the soundtrack to Eurovision 2010 - even if I did like 'Drip Drop' more initially. When the intro kicked in, I still remember the whole stadium roaring with approval of cheers when Lena first performed. Got to #2 in my chart.

2. Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers #1 (for 5 weeks)

One of the defining hits of the summer, Kylie returned with her strongest comeback single in 8 years. It almost got to #1 in my chart but the whole buzz surrounding the World Cup and moreso K'naan 'Wavin' Flag' kept it off #1. In the end 'All The Lovers' remained at no. 2 for three weeks in my chart.

3. Take That - The Flood #1 (for 7 weeks)

Their biggest hit in my chart since 'Rule The World' and it's difficult to pinpoint why. This is pop at it's best and had it not been for the Euphoria of Rihanna, Take That would've been #1 with ease in my chart. Like Kylie, they ended up stalling at #2 for three weeks.

4. Stromae - Alors On Danse #1 (for 2 weeks)

If I remember anything for your charts in 2010, it will be the crazy chart run for 'Alors On Danse'. It was your longest runner when it finally hit #1 - by this point the track had already been #1 in my chart and was floating around the 21-40 region. Maybe it co-incided with the track entering the UK top 40? :D I'm sure Stromae will be one of my most successful one hit wonders. :P

5. Roll Deep - Green Light #1 (#1 for 4 weeks)

I prefered 'Good Times' but you've known that for months. :P This got to #8 in my chart and dropped down after that.

7. Rihanna feat Drake - What's My Name #1 (for 1 week)

Only just entered my chart a fortnight ago and so far has peaked at #7 but I don't this track being anywhere as successful as 'Only Girl (In The World)'.

9. Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way #1 (for 1 week)

Unlike 'All The Lovers', this got boring really quickly for me. Despite entering at #4 it was out of my top 40 six weeks later.

The following made my top 20 (peak position in brackets)

11. Boyzone - Gave It All Away #2 (peaked at #9)

16. Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart #1 (for 2 weeks) (peaked at #1  )

17. Cheryl Cole - Promise This #1 (for 1 week) (peaked at #15)

18. Roll Deep - Good Times #2 (peaked at #4)

19. The Saturdays - Higher #1 (for 2 weeks) (peaked at #10)

95. Eliza Doolittle – Pack Up #5 (peaked at #2)

97. David Guetta feat Rihanna – Who's That Chick #8 (peaked at #3)

One noticeable track not featured here is Mark Ronson & The Business Intl 'Bang Bang Bang'. I thought you loved that track when it first entered the UK charts but looks like it didn't even make your final top 100 of 2010. :o

Great chart. Quite a majority of them are in mine too. :D

Thanks Rob!

Thanks Hits!

1. Ah yes, I was very pleased at the reception she got as it seemed even more likely that she was about to win :D

2. I'm disappointed it only got to #3 in the UK when it had looked to go to #2 on its physical week but this was indeed a stunning song, and definitely her best since the Fever era.

3. I'm still loving The Flood, it's just a top quality pop song!

4. I can't remember when it climbed to #1 exactly for me, I remember the week it soared to #3 because I felt that #8 was a crap peak for it, and then suddenly I started to love it even more than before and it progressed all the way to the top

Bang Bang Bang only actually peaked at #10 in my chart! It would have been just outside my top 100 along with Telephone (yes I know!) and a couple of other shock omissions.
