April 26, 201114 yr I loved Rose so much, but the return did her no favours at all. The fact she came back with what appeared to be a NEW ACCENT didn't help things at all. Plus it sort of took away from the magic of her original exit, which I think was a stroke of genius.
April 26, 201114 yr Urgh, Rose An annoying horse faced, self centered and stupid scumbag. Vile character. Mum Jackie was equally annoying. Martha's OK but a little bland in places and Freema's not the best actress. Donna was incredibly annoying and shallow often but had moments of real poignancy and emotionand showed the most developlment of any character. Hated her at first but like Dandy says I warmed to her eventually. Actually had some depth to her too. Captain Jack (why is he always forgotten?) was and is a great character and they've cleverly not overused him. Adam Mitchell was also a great idea for a companion. Good idea to show that The Doctor doesn't always pick suitable people and 'bad behaviour' will get you sent home. Mickey Smith was also crap at first but got much better and could have been develped more. Rory is a solid addition too with great potential for development. River is also intriguing but I'm of a tendancy to find her a bit smug and annoying sometimes. Would like her to be written with more personal depth. Amy is great and for me up there with the classics IF they continue to give her good stories and add to her growth. Wilfred Mott was decent and allowed for some great one on ones with The Doctor but too often was written as a bumbling fool. If there was to be a companion that should have been it's Lady Christina De Souza. She had real potential but as canonicity of companions is classed as travelling in the Tardis through more than one adventure she can only be a missed opportunity.
April 27, 201114 yr UGH I hated Captain Jack too, so annoying, although I do put that down to John Barrowman as much as anything, human cancer that he is.
April 30, 201114 yr not gonna lie- I was pretty confused throughout that :drama: so many questions- especially the timelord child :o not as good as last week overall, but still good- next week's looks good too
April 30, 201114 yr That answered NO questions and I LOVE IT. I'm even more confused than I was at the end of last week's episode. Who is River? Why isn't Amy pregnant anymore? Is the child hers? Is it a Time Lord? Has it regenerated? Do we know who it has regenerated into (ie. have we met her before?) etc. etc.

I don't think that episode could have been any better/done anything else for me. I think it answered just enough to make it a fulfilling episode, but left just enough open for interpretation to make it exciting. River Song was once again my highlight though and I can't wait to finally have her story resolved, although that most likely means she'll be leaving which is all very
April 30, 201114 yr Was a really good episode yet again. I have no idea what any of it meant and I grew rapidly more sure of my growing stupidity as the episode went along, but yeap, good episode. I definalty think this seasons is going to outshine the last by some distance, it seems to have a bit more depth to it.
April 30, 201114 yr pirates are so last year so i'm not really sure how good next week's episode will be, plus it's got a really tough act to follow with that!
April 30, 201114 yr pirates are so last year so i'm not really sure how good next week's episode will be, plus it's got a really tough act to follow with that! Watching the trailer for 'next week', the next episode strikes me as a sort of The Beast Below/last year's Christmas special-style mess. The 'dip' in episodes that every series tends to have when they try some lighter, fluffier stuff away from the main story arc.
April 30, 201114 yr my theory is that the girl is the doctors daughter from a couple series ago and that the next time we meet River will be the last.

April 30, 201114 yr my theory is that the girl is the doctors daughter from a couple series ago and that the next time we meet River will be the last. It can't be Jenny, why would she regenerate from a woman to a child in the first place?
May 1, 201114 yr It can't be Jenny, why would she regenerate from a woman to a child in the first place? She could have. The Master regenerated from an appearence of a 65/70 year old to an appearence of a 35 year old.
May 1, 201114 yr I was slightly underwhelmed by all of that. Again it was good in places but not a lot actually happened and I was particularly disappointed with the way they 'dealt with' the Silence.

Oh yeah actually, now you mention it, that was all rather easy/lame in the end. That tends to happen quite a lot in Doctor Who though (see Doctor Donna twiddling a few knobs to stop reality being wiped out.)
May 4, 201114 yr It can't be Jenny, why would she regenerate from a woman to a child in the first place? it can be Jenny, it could be before we saw her earlier in terms of time.
May 4, 201114 yr She could have. The Master regenerated from an appearence of a 65/70 year old to an appearence of a 35 year old. That's different, he regenerated to a grown man, not a child. it can be Jenny, it could be before we saw her earlier in terms of time. We saw her creation, it can't be any earlier.
