June 15, 201114 yr It's nothing to do with Moffat  It's because of BBC budget cuts, which are the same reason this series was split into two parts. You're right, I didn't read the article right. Still, :nocheer:

A Good Man Goes to War: 7.51 (18th - behind 11 editions of BGT) Series average: 7.65
June 15, 201114 yr 7.65 is really quite good all things considered! Who is really fucked until the 50th anniversary now though :(
June 15, 201114 yr I'm not keen on the way they're doing things over the next year/18 months, but i sort of expected it. So long as the pay off for the wait is good episodes, unlike the 2009 specials.

June 16, 201114 yr I don't understand why cut short such a successful and cult show... Frickin Moffat I say You and James P are actually both right in a way... Was just reading in Private Eye about this yesterday.. Budgetary constraints are problem, definitely (there were serious problems in getting the Neil Gaiman episode into production for example because of costs...), but there have also been schedule over-runs, and you have to say that THOSE are likely the fault of the production team, including Moffat.... I've argued this in the past, but I'll argue it again, it money is an issue, I think it's about time the producers of Dr Who swallowed a bit of pride and approached a cable company like HBO or AMC to do a co-production, they have the money and would do a good job given the fact that both networks consistently produce excellent quality and ground-breaking shows which are syndicated world-wide and have won multiple critics and viewers awards... As a fan, I want Dr Who to be the best it can possibly be, and frankly as a fan, I'm not happy with the way things appear to be heading with season splits and possibly not even having a full season in 2012....
July 23, 201113 yr Author The first trailer of 6:2 is released tomorrow at 9:30pm on Doctor Who's Facebook page! :D
July 24, 201113 yr Author It looks SO GOOD! I hope it's better than the first half of the series, which I think it probably will be due to there being no two parters, whereas the first half had two of them. Also, I'm actually really pleased about Karen returning, I thought they might dump her after the second series.
July 24, 201113 yr Why are you spoiler-tagging that thing about Karen, it's obvious what it is since you're all happy about it.
July 24, 201113 yr The trailer looks fantastic, I'm very much looking forward to the series starting again. :D
July 25, 201113 yr Series 6 resumes August 27th, ends October 1st (if uninterrupted), DVD out October 10th. I like the small gap between Part 1 and Part 2 aswell as between Part 2 and Christmas special (12 weeks each). I wonder if the special will be more related to the series. July 26, 201113 yr Author Synopses and titles (bar 12/13) of the rest of the series are available on the Doctor Who blog. We don't actually find out much, but I'm still very much excited for it.
August 1, 201113 yr Does anyone know whether, after the end of this series, they will be releasing a DVD boxset of the full series, or just release a Part 2 boxset? I'm asking because I'm not sure whether to buy the Part 1 boxset now incase there is a full series boxset.
