Phantom of the Hex is written by Neil Cross, so it isn't the first episode to air. The first to air is written by Moffat.

No it's not. Neil Cross has written the second to air.

Phantom of the Hex is not written by Moffat, trust me.

Okay but it is as that webpage states. Care to give your source?

Thank you.

This (published on the same day as your article) states that "Phantom of the Hex" is the first in the second run though, and I'm more inclined to believe it, being a BBC source rather than a Doctor Who fan page...

True, but being a fan site, they take their information from press releases, etc so that fans are receiving correct and reliable information.

Plus, I don't think Steven Moffat would want any other slot than the opening episode. Any other episode in between would seem rather weird. Let's Kill Hitler was the first of S6's second run, and was written by Moffat.

Also, this is the run of episodes (as we know it):

Yes but they could have just got the writer of the first episode wrong. And:

Here's a brief description of the rest of series seven, apparently from Doctor Who Magazine:

706: Written by Steven Moffat. Directed by Colm McCarthy.

707: Written by Neil Cross. Directed by Farren Blackburn.

708: Written by Mark Gatiss. Directed by Douglas Mackinnon.

709: Written by Neil Cross. Directed by Jamie Payne.

710: Written by Stephen Thompson. Directed by Mat King.

711: Written by Mark Gatiss. Directed by Saul Metzstein.

712: Written by Neil Gaiman. Directed by Stephen Wolfenden.

713: Written by Steven Moffat. Directed by Saul Metzstein.

That guide is the same as in the article, is it not? :P

Yes, I'm just saying that it's already been posted :P

Plus Wikipedia says Moffat is doing Phantom of the Hex and Cross is doing the second one! So obviously, it must be true! ^_^

Really surprised to see that is actually the case on Wikipedia, given they have locked it from open edits.

I'd have thought they'd know that it's Neil Cross' episode...

From the official Twitter:

Coming just after midnight – an exciting announcement about the return of Doctor Who on 30 March! #DoctorWho

:cheer:

So what was the news?

By the way

I hope this is true, if we can't have any of the past companions then let's at least have Jack.

Edit:

7x07 The Bells of St. John

" modern day urban thriller "

Set in London against the backdrop of new and old iconic landmarks, The Shard and Westminster Bridge, ‘The Bells of St John’ will also establish a new nemesis, the Spoonheads, who will battle the Doctor as he discovers something sinister is lurking in the Wi-Fi.

There's also the official reveal of the Ice Warriors coming at midnight tonight, exclusively by SFX Magazine who have a Doctor Who cover and an interview with Caro Skinner about the new series in their new issue.

Plus, I thought I'd share the cover of this month's DWM, which looks lovely (mainly because of JLC):

17 images were released by the BBC last night, in anticipation for Series 7B. Jenna looks stunning in them.
I'm so happy the Ice Warriors are back. I just hope they're not of the 'please help us Doctor our planet has died and we have nowhere to live anymore' type and are just plain evil. They were best in the Troughton stories not the Pertwee ones. Having said that they were still cool (pun not intended)

I agree with you there! I think that was the main downfall of Asylum of the Daleks, too - the fact that the Doctor's most feared enemy were asking him to save a bunch of screwed up Daleks. It just doesn't fit their persona...

Don't forget, The Doctor has erased his name from history. No-one knows who he is anymore, he came too close to defeat in the last season, way too close.

Amy, Rory, River, Dorium, and prior to Asylum of the Daleks, the Daleks did still know who he was.
