At 12 minutes in length, this is the longest song in the top 200, and much like their other long songs, doesn't feel that long as it's a place to get lost in for a while.

Upon the release of 'Hollywood' and her album I'd decided that Marina was massively overrated and didn't see what they hype was about. This opinion lasted until she released this and I forgot about the hype and listened to her for what she actually is. It's much better like that, definitely one of the albums highlights and easy to sing a long to.

So they release a 10 minute instrumental and I'm not sure what to expect, but it's brilliant, and so un-Ash!

In seven years no song has spent as long as 12 weeks on my personal chart and peaked as low as number 17. But this was one of those songs that kept growing on me and takes a deserving place in my top 100 end of year. One of the strongest songs on her album, she's definitely one of the best and quirkiest stars of 2010.

At first I thought Drake was just a typical US mainstream rapper, just slightly better than the average. But my flatmate is a massive fan and I've recently listened to him a lot more and he's actually quite good. I've no idea why this wasn't a hit, it would surely have been lapped up if it was by Jason DeRulo. By far the best song of its type this year.

I think 'Radioactive' is one of their more interesting tracks, and its use of gospel choir is excellent.

When I first heard this song I thought it was pretty awful, but as the year has progressed it's really grown on me. He sounds so fresh in the current climate, with a very distinctive sound in mainstream rap. 'Pass Out' is deservedly one of the years most successful songs.

I might have to check out Best Coast a bit further. I've been informed by friends that I'm the sort of person who would like that sort of thing.

So, my second favourite song from the impressive A-Z series. It's another which shows a different side to Ash, I love the way it builds up throughout the intro.

'No Surprise' was one of my favourite discoveries from last year, so seeing he had a new single out this year I thought I'd download it. Again I wasn't disappointed, although this is a lot more poppy and upbeat than last year's entry.

The first time either act has appeared in my End of Year chart. I've grown rather fond of Katy B over the last 3 months or so, and my fondness probably peaked when I first heard this. It's a lot different to 'Katy on a Mission' but good in a different way, I think Ms. Dynamite adds a lot to the song (I didn't think I'd ever say that!) and although it's hardly original or inventive I can't help loving it, really pleased it looks like being a big hit this week!

The lead single for an Arcade Fire album is always going to make me excited and so it probably charted artificially high on my personal chart. It's a very good song, and one of the better ones on the album, but it's not quite up to classic Arcade Fire standards.

I first checked out Villagers when their album was nominated for the Mercury Prize and this recent single was the standout from it. It's a strong album and a great song which I adored for a month or so, it's the number one single I've gone off most this year though.

Robyn is the most consistantly successful act on my chart ever. This is her 10th single, and looks like it will become the first one that doesn't reach the top 3 which just goes to show the consistantly high standard she's managed to achieve. It's not particularly weak, it's still a very good song, it's just a bit too similiar to the other two 'Body Talk' singles I think.

I used to be a massive Maximo Park fan, their debut album still remains one of my favourite from the previous decade, but not so much after their recent material. I downloaded their lead singers debut solo single out of curiosity more than anything else, not really expecting much though. That made me even more pleased when I sat back and listened for the first time. A fantastic first effort which, barring 'Our Velocity', is much better than anything from Maximo Park's two previous albums. It's good lyrically and much more mellow. Once the year has died down and I've finished reviewing (as I always do in December) I shall definitely be downloading the rest of his album.

The fourth and final single off their debut album, and their fourth single to reach a peak of #03 on my personal chart! I thought this was a big improvement on 'Doubt' and one of the best tracks on an impressive album.

Released at the beginning of the year, this was the final single off one of my favourite albums from 2009, and one of the best songs on it. I've no idea why it didn't do better in my chart as I've always loved it, but it's rectified with a decent End of Year position.
