12. I think it's a bit higher as it keeps getting played over and over again in Sainsbury's, or at least was last week when I was in every day, so it's become one of my week's anthems. It was also poignant as indeed I did just about manage to get 'home for christmas' albeit driving in -14.5 degrees and freezing fog in north Wales on my way back on Xmas Eve in the evening!

19. It took a while to grow on me actually but I finally got an HQ and I'm starting to really like it a lot now :D

 

I prefer Rachel's song to Sabrina's but both are decent.

The lowest temperature I've witnessed so far this winter is -8.5, but it must have dropped lower than that at some point over the past couple of nights as the river in Carmarthen has frozen over :lol: . Did you have a good Christmas?

I kept hearing it and liked it and was surprised to find out it was the new Maria Mena single as I'd managed to avoid hearing it up to this point! I already have Gabriella on physical as its on her deluxe edition of her debut album which I own :D Maria's song was certainly a surprising addition to it though :o Oh yes, we had loads of snow, it's still all there in fact, it's nice to be back in the south for a few days where it all disappeared a long time ago. I'll be going back up on either Thursday or Friday as I have work at the weekend, and I fully expect to see the snow all still there :drama:

I've always liked but not loved Adele, I can't see the song going *much* higher in my chart, or her ever having a top five hit for me, but I do like it quite a bit. I never even particularly cared for Rachel in X Factor so I'm certainly not overrating her because of that :lol: I suppose that comment could be said about so many songs though - I doubt if Alexandra and Leona's singles had been recorded by some throwaway nobodies that anyone would care about them!

No I loved it straight away (I only listened to the songs once each last month before deleting the crap, and listening again to the ones left to order them :lol:). I love the 90's influence in it, and the general drum & bass sound but keeping a pop sound overall - it's really unique for a 2010/11 release! It was a pretty crap contest overall though, I only cared much for my top 7 I think :drama:

 

Taste is subjective of course so I can fully understand that what I find to be a good song, other people won't and vice versa, but I am actually quite enjoying Follow The DJ! For now at least - it will probably wear on me quickly as most electro fem pop seems to nowadays.

 

I'm not sure if I'll even be continuing with BJSC in the new year. To say I'm bored of the thing would be an understatement!

No way! A lot of people are bored of it now. Although I can see why. A lot of people take it far too seriously, when it's only meant to be a bit of fun. :( We should have one once every three months or so, I reckon. I think it's because I've been there since the start - over 3 years now! :mellow: And the loons saying 'when's the next contest, I need it now in order to breath!!!!1111!!!' are really offputting :lol: If it was once every three months I'd probably stay, but I have a lot less free time now and it just all seems like more of a task than pleasure nowadays, seeing as I never really love more than a handful of songs, meaning that I'm wasting time listening to a ton of songs I'm not remotely fussed about. The quality's gone way down, as much as it pains me to say it, I think the indie countries all disappearing hasn't been a good thing for the contest. I used to find the best discoveries there sometimes as they're the genres I tend not to listen to. When it comes to generic pop I like to think that I can find the best of the genre from my own trawls of the internet, as it's my forte, and when the whole contest is generic pop, it tends to all mish mash into one. The variety's gone and it's all got a little bit boring.

 

The only discoveries I'm really still making these days are from genres I wouldn't class myself as an expert on - like singer/songwriter, indie, dance, urban. There haven't been ANY Scandipop songs sent to the contest in the last few months that I haven't known of beforehand :lol: And the electropop in the contest is generally all getting a bit tired and cliched now, even my own entry last month I got bored of after a couple of weeks :rofl:

I already have Gabriella on physical as its on her deluxe edition of her debut album which I own :D Maria's song was certainly a surprising addition to it though :o Oh yes, we had loads of snow, it's still all there in fact, it's nice to be back in the south for a few days where it all disappeared a long time ago. I'll be going back up on either Thursday or Friday as I have work at the weekend, and I fully expect to see the snow all still there :drama:

 

I was exactly the same! I did 50 hours last week! Luckily didn't have to work boxing day but driving back 5 hours on xmas eve after a 9 hour shift took it all out of me a bit :lol:

 

12 - Maria was indeed a surprise inclusion! All the snow has vanished here now, it rained most of last night and that cleared it all away, so hopefully Wrexham will be back to normal too.

 

I did 39 hours, which is the maximum amount of hours any employee can do, and was shattered so I can't imagine how you felt after 50 hours plus the 5 hour drive :o

12. Lucky you! I've looked on the Wrexham webcams earlier (sad I know :lol:) and the snow's all still down :( It needs a good pour down to get rid of it! Luckily the temperatures seem to have gone back above freezing so hopefully it won't be so slippery everywhere.

I was surprised it got so busy actually, I had trouble getting there myself in the snow and if I hadn't had to go out I would have stayed at home definitely! People will go out in any weather to get food, even if it means risking their safety :lol:
