The songs that I think will be remembered by the general public (NOTE: I don't think most of these are good, but they'll be remembered, due to radio stations playing them all the time and/or cultural impact).

Pass Out

Bad Romance

We No Speak Americano

California Gurls

Airplanes

Forget You

Love the Way You Lie

Ridin' Solo

Empire State of Mind

Fireflies

Just the Way You Are

Those are ones that come immediately to mind. Although it'll be different for different people. Like all the people who've started University this year will definitely be remembering Miami 2 Ibiza for years to come, because that was the song of Fresher's Week. People who went on holiday to Europe might fondly remember massive European summer hits for years like Waka Waka and Alors on danse, even if they weren't so popular in the UK.

For me, personally, there's a lot of summer songs I think I'll be remembering for years, because summer 2010 was an absolutely amazing time of my life. California Gurls, Not Afraid, Alejandro, Good Times, Stereo Love, etc. will all bring back wonderful memories. We No Speak Americano will also be remembered by lots of people my age, because most of our year from school went on holidays together after we finished our exams, and We No Speak Americano was the song that was being played all the time there. Also, Good Times was the song that everybody blasted out at school every Friday afternoon towards the end of the school year (it was I Gotta Feeling at the beginning of the school year).

I know most people here hate all those songs, but they will probably be remembered fondly by a lot of 18 year-olds. I think Pass Out and Bad Romance will be the most widely remembered 2010 songs though. I don't think either are that amazing, but I'm aware people won't be forgetting them (no matter how had they try ).

i think love the way you lie, mainly because of its global impact and it not being a throw away pop song like calinfornia girls which will probably become dated in a few years.
^ Love the Way You Lie will obviously be remembered for years, possibly almost to the extent that Stan from 10 years ago is remembered so fondly by many today, but I think California Gurls will be remembered too. If I am correct, California Gurls is the most played song on the radio, and one of the defining songs of summer 2010. Quality-wize, I obviously think it's much poorer than Love the Way You Lie, and far surpassed by Hot N Cold, Firework and a plethora of Snoop Dogg's own songs, but it will be remembered, and even now, I'm already having fond memories when I hear the song. Plus, it's not that bad.

i just think it will date very easily, thus get played very little as time goes on. only time will tell but it already to me has an 'overplayed summer song' of yester-year feel to it.

I'd add Firework to the list

this to me is more likely to be remembered in years to come as a big bonfire/new years eve night party track.

The main two will be Fireflies and Airplanes

For me ... the only one I can remember is Cee Lo Green's Forget You ... and we're not even into 2011 yet. I think most songs people have mentioned so far are ok ... but they are just for the moment ... and none will be remembered in 10 year's time.

^ To be fair though, people say that every year, yet the poll for your least favourite song of 2007 has just started, and I remember every single one! :o I guess if we go back a few years further, we'll start seeing some which I don't know/remember, but still. Will I remember each of 2010's year-end top 40 in 2013? I don't know, but I'm sure there'll be songs I'll remember from this year in a decade's time. For the general public though, that's a different matter, although a lot of them simply don't like chart music, and probably won't've heard a lot of songs in the first place.

Forget You is appropriately titled, because it's one of the songs I hope to forget. Although I doubt I will. Heart FM will be playing it for years. :drama:

None will be classics from what I can tell. Maybe Pass Out at a push. But it's hard to say at the moment anyway. Ask again in a few years and it'll be more obvious, so to speak.

In terms of being remembered, definitely We No Speak Americano (it was probably the big hit of the summer, and I think will for a lot of people remind them of summer 2010), and maybe Pass Out and Love The Way You Lie. I'm not sure about any others... it's been a very throwaway year in terms of chart music really.

Also, as Eric kinda said, it's hard to say what songs will be remembered as someone who pretty much remembers every song that was at least somewhat big (like I imagine a lot of people here will), when the average member of public doesn't have such impressive recall skills  I mean, I still remember random #30 hits or whatever from 2000...

Kylie;s all the lovers will as its been one of her most well recieved singles in a few years.

I also think

Lady Gaga bad romance

Bruno Mars just the way you are

Rihanna and Eminem love the way you lie

Take That the flood

Alicia Keys empire state of mind

Telephone - Think it may be remembered as a very important moment in pop music. Collaboration from the Female Artist of the Decade (00s) and what looks like the Female Artist of This Decade (2010s).

Whaaaat!? Gee get off fanboii land! It's a good pop song, but it's not even GaGa's most well known, no chance anyone will truly remember it in 10 years time.

Love The Way You Lie is a given I think, then We Speak No Americano just because I think it reminds A LOT of people of the summer, just cos it was massive in all the clubs abroad and also the fact that is a massive tune.

Bad Romance and that's it.

Us chart freaks will remember many more but general public won't. It will be Bad Romance.

Its difficult to say at this point really, I usually wait until halfway through the year before I can truly judge a song as a classic, I'll take some wild guesses:

Rihanna- Only Girl (In The World)

Katy Perry- California Gurls

Bruno Mars- Just The Way You Are

Take That- The Flood

B.o.B/Bruno Mars- Nothing On You

Tinie Tempah- Written In The Stars

Taio Cruz- Dynamite

Owl City- Fireflies

Eliza Doolittle- Pack Up

Cee-Lo Green- f*** You

Yolanda Be Cool- We No Speak Americano

Tinie Tempah- Pass Out

B.o.B/Hayley Williams- Airplanes

Alicia Keys- Empire State of Mind Part II (along with the first version)

Eminem feat. Rihanna- Love The Way You Lie

Lady Gaga/Beyonce- Telephone

Katy Perry- Firework

Plan B- She Said

Mumford and Sons- The Cave

This song isn't terrible, but it's not all to do with the quality of the song. We're talking about what will be remembered.
