Predicting there won't be much spending bar maybe Man City, aside from a few high profile loan moves... I think it is inevitable Beckham is coming back to the Premier League.

Alex Ferguson has ruled out signing any new players, but if true I think that's a fairly risky move. Though United are heavily linked with Diarra so who knows what could happen!

Vidic was a January signing and took a while to settle in so Fergie has been skeptical of foreign signings since (Evra was alright though) if we do then it'll be someone like Diarra with Premier League experience, we were even linked with Ashley Young which I'm not sure about.

Dzeko will probably go to City and they'll pay stupid money for other signings they don't need.

Eidur Gudjohnsen to Swansea! :o

Adebayor rumoured to go to West Ham on loan too, how the mighty have fallen.

He'll just be getting big wages...

I don't see how West Ham can afford huge wages though? Like paying Wayne Bridge 90k a week...I thought they were massively in debt?

He'd purely be used for a marketing gimic surely by the new owners? He's way past his best these days.
Exactly, he's well past it so they blatently just want him to fulfil their delusional dreams of having a champions leaague club. The owners are complete nutcases.
As much as it would partly be a marketing gimmick to bring Ronaldinho in it's not completely ludicrous. He's past his best yes, but then again with all due respect to Blacburn Rovers, he wouldn't even be in the picture to sign for them if he was still in the top bracket competing for the Ballon d'Or, FIFA World Player of the Year, etc. Without meaning to draw any false comparisons between Serie A and the EPL, Ronaldinho was into double figures for league goals last season, which is a far cry from what Roberts, Kalinic, Benjani, Diouf et al achieved. Even Benni McCarthy prior to his switch to Upton Park.
Beckham looks likely to go to Spurs still but wherever he goes he'd be financially viable just through shirt sales. Hope West Ham can sign someone, preferably a defender I've actually heard of but going forward it's looking a bit brighter as the youngsters like Sears, Stanislas and Hines are finally coming good.

Beckham would be wasted at Spurs. He'd just sit on the bench, making the odd cameo appearance. But lotd of marketing ploys wherever he goes.

I don't think know what the hell the Blackburn owners are smoking...there's no way Blackburn will ever be a club other than mid-table mediocrity

I think you're right for the forseeable future but it's a bit cruel to ignore their title win a mere 16 years ago

Only because the other big clubs at the time were going through massive periods of re-structure and they had a good manager. I'd be surprised if they ever got the latter. Clubs like Blackburn (and the rest of Lancashire sides) is that they will never be 'big' clubs again because of their location. It's hardly glamorous, and the sheer thought of Ronaldinho living in Blackburn/Accrington/Clitheroe makes me lol a lot inside (even though it will be Cheshire IF he goes there). They're overshadowed by the bigger sides near Lancashire

Darren Bent has handed a written transfer request in at Sunderland.

Players have no loyalty these days...can't see why he's going to Villa unless it is for the money?

Can only be money! He doesn't care what league he is in as long as his pay cheque is still fat and juicy. And to be fair Sunderland would be foolish to reject £18M.

They could probably buy Carroll for that amount lol...

But I think Sunderland will need a goalscorer. Michael Owen perhaps? I've seen stranger things.

Owen is long gone and past it now. Too risky. Adebayor is probably out of reach, be a tough player to replace in January.

Are you mental? The club would go into meltdown if we got rid of Bent and replaced him with Owen. In fact i'd personally piggyback Bruce out of the club. Owen's well passed it and he's a crock.

I'm absolutely gutted that he's handed in a request, I don't care about the money he's scored 32 goals in 58 games for us which for an unfashionable team is unheard of. I really hope Bruce has somebody lined up to replace him, Gyan's hit and miss, Welbeck looks a prospect but is still very young and i'm not sure United would let us have him, and Campbell is out for another month or so.
