Solid start Jonjo. PA2 is much weaker than the first but it does work in the first film well and isn't terrible. I found it a tad uninvolving in places.

Despicable Me is great. And Chris, I've seen it twice and even though I know R Brand is in it I still don't really notice him. Can't even remember who he plays right now.

Yeah. It is very hard to notice him in this film, he plays Gru's (Steve Carrell) assistant I think. Thankyou for your comment Martin :D

Predators wasn't actually that bad. It was watchable. Far better than the Alien V Predator films.
Meh. It was a total non-event of a film for me. I just remember it being bad, very bad.

04: 'Shutter Island'

STARRING: Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Max von Sydow & Michelle Williams

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?: "Drama set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island." (Taken from imdb.com)

At number 4 is the psychological thriller, 'Shutter Island'. The trailer to this film is odd, it made it seem like it could have been a very clever horror film or something, however it was not. At the time this seemed to be a bit of a head f***, but in the end, thinking about it, it was quite simple and easy to follow. You'd just need a good head to keep you going throughout the whole film. You will either, get it straight away or you will only get it towards the end. Very compelling viewing and once I watch it again (I've only seen it once thus far :manson:) I'm sure it'll go on to be one of my favourite films!

03: 'Dinner For Schmucks'

STARRING: Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, Zach Galifianakis, Jemaine Clement, Stephanie Szostak & Kristen Schaal

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?: "When he finds out that his work superiors host a dinner celebrating the idiocy of their guests, a rising executive questions it when he's invited, just as he befriends a man who would be the perfect guest." (Taken from imdb.com)

At number 3 is the comedy 'Dinner For Schmucks'. I understand that you may think it shouldn't be this high, but it truly took me by surprise and I found it a lot funnier than I perhaps should! The casting all round is fantastic. Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell are both brilliant opposite each other, and there is more than just 2 or 3 scenes where I found I was actually LOLing! Luckily for me though, I never saw the trailer before I went to see it so I didn't have any expectations of it and is probably the reason why I think it's one of my favourite films of 2010. Also, the ending gave me one of my favourite speeches in a film, EVER!

02: 'Kick Ass'

STARRING: Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Nicholas Cage, Chloe Moretz & Mark Strong

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?: "Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so." (Taken from imdb.com)

Number 2 is the amazingly epic, 'Kick Ass'! I'm not that big a fan of comic book films usually. (I think it's because I've never read a proper comic in my life, so they don't really interest me) but this film really was something special! Everything about it was done perfectly. The humour, action, fight scenes and even the acting was incredible. The biggest shock for me personally though is the fact Nicholas Cage is actually, very, very, very GOOD!

Nic Cage isnt actually a bad actor he just get's put into $h!te roles with $h!te directors, watch something where he isnt typecast and is under a good director and he is fantastic, he was absolutly brilliant in Adaptation directed by Spike Jonze.

but yeah, Kick Ass, great film, well done for actually having a good film in your top 3.

Kick Ass really is amazing . I agree about Nic Cage, can't stand him normally ... but Chris maybe right he is just given terrible roles, 'National Treasure' was absolutely DIRE.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?: "In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a highly skilled thief is given a final chance at redemption which involves executing his toughest job to date: Inception." (Taken from imdb.com)

Completing this countdown of my favourite films of 2010, is the rather exceptional 'Inception'. It has everything you could want in a huge Hollywood blockbuster. Fantastic acting from all the cast, beautiful direction from one of the best directors around, a truly sensational script and a twist that gets you thinking! I'm still not sure what to think about the ending, even though I've seen it four or five times! But yeah, this trounces over all the competition in 2010 to be my favourite film of the year! Sorry for being the typical commercial film freak, but nothing, honestly came close.

Surely he gets to choose which films he does and stuff? So it's his own fault he can't pick out good roles. I have this conversation with people from work whenever a Nicholas Cage film is released, and I think someone said the same thing as you and also told me to give 'Adaptation' a go as "i'd be surprised". But I honestly can't be arsed as my dislike for him, is ridiculous  But 'Kick Ass' really has changed my opinion slightly so maybe I should stop being ignorant and give that film a go...

Yeah! I laugh when people mention Nic Cage as one of their fave actors. :( I just can't tolerate him. But I'm glad someone else thought 'National Treasure' was dire.

Nic Cage is a decent actor who unfiortunately has a tendency to phone is his performances. his problem is pooir scripot choices and underacheiving directors.

He's good however in Raising Arizona, Wild At Heart, Face/Off, Leaving Las Vegas, Lord Of War, Bad Liutenant, even Con Air and especially in Werewolf Women Of The S.S.

erm wut, how many Hollywood actors do you think pick roles themselves? I'm pretty sure that 99% of them have agents who pick the films for them and they take what they are given if they give a good enough audition.

Watch Adaptation and tell me Nic Cage can't act and you have no idea what acting is. Anyway you should be watching Adaptation not because Nic Cage is good in it but because it's directed by the best director ever. It's embassasing when you don't watch a Spike Jonze film just because Nic Cage is in it.

If Roger Ebert says Nic Cage can act then you know he can act.

LOL Chris. Stop getting so worked up about little things. Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't think I've seen a Spike Jonze directed film before, so please forgive me for not knowing who he is

Also thanks Martin :D
