January 4, 201114 yr I've always found it impossible to go near Baker Street without a certain saxophone solo going through my head. RIP Gerry Rafferty :(
January 5, 201114 yr Only 63 - He died with liver disease due to excessive drinking. Baker Street - love the haunting sax. It's from the brilliant album City To City which I have. Not many people know this but before Stealers Wheel he used to be part of a duo with Billy Connolly called the Humblebums. Stealers Wheel had 3 hits Stuck In The Middle With You (later covered by Louise Redknapp) Everything Will Turn Out Fine Star He had a few solo hits including: Baker Street Get It Right Next Time Right Down The Line Night Owl Here's a couple of Gerry's hits Baker Street OPxs212oAyU Stealers Wheel - Everything Will Turn Out Fine bOkSEIJ3v5k
January 10, 201114 yr Not one of his well known songs, and not for everybody's tastes, but Don't Give Up On Me seems to turn up intermittently on the rare occasions whenever I'm listening to Radio 2 (normally when I'm in my dad's car). Not bad for an album track from a 20 year old record that sold flip all. UOzsbQRpaaY Edited January 10, 201114 yr by Brett-Butler
January 26, 201114 yr Baker Street is such a prolific song and brings back so many childhood memories as they used to play it as part of Childrens Programs on the ABC in Australia
