Perhaps people aren't sure what to vote each round, so they kind of just vote instinctively, without giving it proper thought? That's the only explanation for why Live Your Life got voted out.

That certainly wasn't the case for me at all.

Why wouldn't you? If the song I'm voting for is getting, like, zero or one extra votes apart from me, then of course I might move on to something else and wait until it picks up more votes. Some people might not mind being incredibly persistent and voting the same song for 12039402 rounds even though nobody else is but I for one do, and therefore move on to something that is getting more votes that I also don't like. It's a wasted vote, and nobody likes to feel like their opinion is having no impact on the results after all!

Plus, at the end of the day, there are loads of songs here that I like or dislike in pretty much equal measure. I find it very hard to rank songs in these kind of games things, so mostly I put them in a rough order from like to dislike and then switch a few. But if I did it like a week later I could put a song a bit higher. But there's not any songs left I hate more than others, but there is about eight songs I dislike equally. So that's another reason why I sometimes switch to voting for songs that others are. I'll never understand how people can rank songs so exactly like that, especially when they come from so many different genres  Usually I only have about six different opinions on a song: "love", "like", "don't mind", "dislike", "hate", "don't care"... and that's about it. Not really varying degrees of each... except maybe love and hate.

Anyway, I'm voting for 'Valerie' again. And WTF at Kanye leading?! :o It's not his best but come on, it's still good. Though the rest of the singles from Graduation were better - especially 'Flashing Lights'

That, my friend, is called 'tactical voting'.

That, my friend, is called 'tactical voting'.

Not really. Tactical voting is voting against something just to achieve a particular result. Like if I wanted Nely Furtado to win, I might try and vote out 'Umbrella' just because it's the biggest competition, even though I like 'Umbrella' just as much.

The only example of genuine tactical voting here in this game that I can think of is people voting off 'Just Dance' just because they didn't want Lady Gaga to completely dominate the top 4 (and she still completely dominated the top 3, anyway!) That really annoyed me at the time as I love 'Just Dance' and think it's probably her best single.

Honestly, I'm still voting for a song I dislike at the end of the day :/ It's not a big deal.

This is not a 'One of your least favourite best-sellers of 2007' thread. I'm just being anal and pedantic, as always.

Umm, yeah, you certainly are being anal about it

I'm pretty sure Dannyboy doesn't really care, otherwise he surely would have said something by now considering this has been going for months and there have been several notable times that people have changed their votes by the round (while the other song is still in). As long as people don't genuinely tactically vote it's not a big deal, like I said.

Plus, can you imagine how split things would be (especially at the beginning) if people didn't team up against particular songs? As far I'm concerned it helps the game to move forward, and avoids having messy ties - and allowing songs that are actually popular with most but have only a few 'haters' to go out.

Some of you may be interested to know this bit of information about Just Dance.

Akon helped write the song and he provides backing vocals.

Fergie's the most dire on that list - Fergie - the only woman who could have hit whilst gargling phlegm. Which, in reality, it sounds like she was doing when she released the Godawful Big Girls Don't Cry......

REALLY?! I had no idea. Thanks for ruining the song completely for me.

Be right back while I delete any trace of 'Just Dance' from my life :(

(But seriously, what's your point? That's hardly something that isn't common knowledge...)

Sorry to upset you.

But my point was two-fold. Firstly, why is Akon hated so much here, when he's partially responsible for a song that's so loved on here? What if he was credited on the track? He doesn't contribute much in terms of vocals to The Sweet Escape, but the same goes for Just Dance.

Secondly, I was hinting that maybe people voted Just Dance out because of Akon, but they just didn't want to admit it! I'm not fully serious about the second point though, but you never know.

To be fair, the thing that I hate about Akon is his voice is usually horribly nasal. On this his parts are minimal and don't really sound nasal at all (except until his last bits at the end, which he almost manages to ruin but the fact that Gaga/the production is so great on that bit saves it).

And I don't think people really hate 'The Sweet Escape' do they? I got the feeling it was a pretty well-liked song on here, but maybe I'm just making that connection because it's female and pop. It 'only' has three votes here so I don't think you can assume it's hated just because of that.

As for your last point, I specifically remember people saying at the time their reasoning was "that they didn't want all of Gaga's songs there until the end" or along those lines  Absolute c**ts. Why couldn't they have picked on the horrendous 'Poker Face' instead, eh?

Akon is hated on here, because its just not Buzzjack friendly- imo its deserved as they are generic, boring and sometimes horrible songs

on the Sweet Escape, he only has minimal contribution, most people won't even notice he's singing, and tbh I don't think anyone would care if Just Dance was written by him as I didn't know until this second and I've always liked it and still do  they are female pop songs, which are Buzzjack friendly- no matter if Akon has anything to do with it

its quite simple really :P

Give It To Me! The lyrics are pathetic:

I'm a real producer and you just a piano man

Your songs don't top the charts, I heard 'em, I'm not a fa-an-an

I agree with your last bit. Well, I didn't want 4 Gaga songs until the end either, as they're not hte 4 best songs from the poll in my opinion, infact, I probably wouldn't even have put any of them in my top 20 from that list, but I voted Poker Face for like 20 rounds. :drama: :( Just Dance is better than both Poker Face and Paparazzi for sure, in my opinion.

I'm not sure if The Sweet Escape is actually hated here either tbh. I've never really discussed it with anybody before. I think people might find it annoying, because of the "Wooooooooo, yeeee-hoooooo" bits. A lot of people on here tend to find that sort of thing annoying in a song. :( I love it though! Definitely the best of the 3 'Akon' songs, so I'm at least glad it's lasted the longest, although I Wanna Love You still certainly deserves to be in too, imo.

I went for that 'every heartbeat' song ... I hated it.

Kath

PS ... and Patience is the best song TT have ever done so stop having a go at it. Although I must admit ... my brother-in-law has written new words to it and its even better!

Kanye Stronger to go for me... Forgetable.
I have to say I completely agree with Superbossanova. I usually look at these and see between 5-8 songs that I'd like to win, as long as it's not one of those that's going then I don't really care, I'll just vote for something rubbish to get it out, especially as there's always at least a dozen songs I think are awful.
I've just realized that there's only 3 songs left in the poll that I don't like, which is why I seem to be full-on depressed everytime something gets voted out!
