I must admit I did find myself nodding off a bit listening to that clip. Gary and Mark have quite droney speaking voices....

Ok, never for one single second did I think it was anyone other than Mark singing the lead on Kidz with Robbie singing the chorus. No iota of doubt in my mind. But I've just been perusing the TT official forum and the majority opinion there seems to be it's Gary singing the chorus.

Someone please put me out my misery. If it is Gary I fear I'm going deaf.

Right, I've listened again. I hear a Robbie chorus. No question.

Surely????

I can't tell the difference now between Gary's and Rob's voices ... especially with all the electronic tweaking. It could be Gary Wilmott or Robbie Keane to be honest.

Kath

Ya, the tweaking is decieving but i was sure it was marks voice.

The lead is Mark - we're talking about the chorus though Pete.

I like to think that Jason and Robbie are doing an 'Armstrong & Miller - The Invigilators' kind of thing outside the room ... whilst Gary and Mark send a glass eye to sleep.

I'm sorry ... but yes ... the album is good, nay - very good, but is it really worthy of all this 'analyzing' or is it just that they want their fans to hang on to their every word? F*cking Hell! Sgt Pepper's ... it is NOT!

I can't frigging wait until Rob goes solo again ... because I'll be going to see him instead!

Kath ...I love when you go all militant

Sometimes I don't like myself for it ... but this whole thing is just SO being orchestrated by Gary Barlow. They think they're all their own bosses now? They should think again. Barlow is just NMS without the cosmetic surgery (or personality). The only thing that puzzles me is why the hell Rob came back on board ... I mean - he doesn't need the money. Is he just as fame-hungry as Gary? Has Barlow worked his Svengali like charms over him?

Speaking of NMS - when the hell is he going to write his book on the whole thing. I want to hear about that holiday in the States.

Kath, and i am so sure is Mark, who orchestrates them :naughty: . He knows which ego to tinkle, let Gary to be the "cover" of the band, let Robbie to have the most lines on the album, let Jason to philosophize and let Howard to be the shy quiet Howard. In a lot of interviews he knows to each one to throw the ball or to move the direction of the discussion. Which manager has the band? Mark's one. The most of co-writer were more connected to Mark then Gary. The one who cowrites Shine has also wrote for MO solo albums. Ben Mark and Jamie Norton were in his solo band.

As for writing in songs is very clear the most of the times, which songs were heavily influenced from Mark and which from Gary (even when Gary likes to pose as the musical authority of the band, i am talking about all new TT albums and not only about Progress). It is enough to analyse the solo songs written from each one. If Mark would have have a beautiful voice like Gary or the entertaining package like Robbie, he would had have more success. But so his songwriter talent is hard to be hear from the majority, as they don't like his voice. Take his voice out of his songs and look at the music, at the lyrics, at the used instruments , he has a lot of fantasy and much more easiness to go from a music style to the other while Gary, as brilliant as he is, is only good in ballads and in the production sector.

As for Robbie coming back, sure that a business man like Gary saw the benefit. But i bet here that was the wish of Mark, as he seems the one who don't need to talk about it or to over analyze his feeling about reunion and he seems genuinely happy to have Robbie next to him on scene. I also bet the Howard was against, as he likes stability, Jason is for some reason now pissed about, Gary likes the attention and Robbie, who knows? He is like the wind...

But all of this is naturally only supposition from my part :naughty: . It would be funny thought to discover after 50 years that the mastermind was Howard or Jason  . Or even Nigel

Well Jason looks supicious to me if that counts. All those hand-tricks... he could be doing some voodoo stuff to the other 4.

As for Howard he is too silent, I bet he has a lot to hide.

:P

I think the master-manipulator is Ayda though! I bet she secretly wants to be an XF judge.

Hmmmmm

For what it's worth I too think Wee Markie Mark has a lot more influence in what happens with TT than people give him credit for.

I would definitly agree with this, i think its easier to assume that either gary or robbie pull the strings but i think mark plays a far bigger part than what he is credited for and i would think he likes it that way. It is my belief robbie and gary would have never made up without mark as mark had always remained on good terms with both, additionaly isnt take that manager the same manager mark had for his all his non take that career aswell?

Looky here. An 'alternative' version of KIDZ at the demo stage by the looks of it. From about 1 min to 3 mins in.

Did Robbie sing all the demos on this album?

I'm going to be really predictable here. I prefer Rob's version :P

Anyway, the Robbie demo chorus sounds like the actual album chorus to my ears

No, just the ones he wrote solo ;)

Lets face it 75% of the material is Robbie's work (even 8 letters appearently), the rest probably helped with a melody (Gary) or polished the choruses (Howard). To be fair WDYWFM is Mark's song all over. For Affirmation & Flowerbed I don't know who did what but for the rest 9 it is mr RW. (I usually keep this to myself because TT fans may not like the concept; deep inside they know it is true, they know TT songs better than I do anyway- they just don't want to admit it)

Bugger. There goes my theory
